Looking for a small gun safe to go in the bedroom. Maybe hold six guns, 2000$ max. Any suggestions?

"Questions for AMSEC TheSafeGuy", page 3

How good is the security of the CSC4520E1? Does it have an type of UL security rating? Does it rely on steel or concrete for security?

It looks to be a good size for the bedroom for quick access to rifles and handguns, along w/ storage of other miscellaneous valuables.

Sturdy makes a real nice smaller gun safe perfect for a bedroom.

I also recommend Sturdy Safe.

Depending on size, I think you'll find a rather limited choice for small closet safes with the majority of available brands being Chinese imports.

Small US safes that will fall into your price range are the already mentioned Sturdy, the Ft Knox Maverick and one or two choices from Superior/Champion. Visalia Safe out of California also makes what appears to be a nice little safe but I haven't been able to find anyone with first hand experience.

Thanks for joining the conversation.

May I ask what position you hold at Liberty? Are you free to discuss manufacturing techniques, etc?

with a $2k budget, you should be able to find a real nice safe. I would suggest you go to a local safe dealer, not a gunshop... A real safe dealer may have some used safes that actually carry a real theft rating and not just a RSC rating. If you have any concerns about theft, an RSC rated cabinet will only slow down the average crackhead and not a determined thief. The RSC rating means its good for 5 minutes against basic hand tools like a screw driver, hammer and prybar, not really much protection at all.

Find a local safe dealer, tell him your budget and your size needs and go from there. Gunshops are not the place to buy safes.

I am in the marketing department. I actually am fairly new to Liberty so my expertise is a bit limited, but having said that, I have lots of people to ask questions to here so feel free to ask questions and I will pass them on to people who will know the answer...
