I have a chance to buy a friends M1a for $1000 out the door. It's a springfield receiver and barrel. almost 0 throat erosion.
The metal is in good shape and has not been refinished. it has a complete cleaning kit and canvas sling in great shape.
The owner is throwing in two bandoliers and an additional 175 rounds of lake city match ammo.

the gun is very clean. the stock shows some normal wear, and the metal is rust free. throat erosion gauge shows no erosion.
the mussel is clean with no visible nicks or deformation.

is it worth the asking price. what should i look for. thanks for your advise.

That ammo is worth about $175.00 by itself.  So, you are getting the rifle for a little over $800.00

BUY IT...YESTERDAY!!!!!

What is the serial # - you don't have to post it all, just, for example, 095XXX.  That will tell the year of manufacture and the probability of it having a significant number of USGI parts.

In the title you say M1A but here you say M1. Which is it?
