I hope that this question is OK to post here.I have a stock the has a crack in it and I want to fix it. The crack is located by the side of the receiver in the magazine area. And it is through the stock completely on one side. But does not go completely through up and down.It stops about 1" short of the bottom of the stock. I was thinking of using either fiberglass resin or gorilla glue.Has any one fixed cracked stocks how did you do it and how did it come out.

                                                                                                    Thanks

Go onto surplusrifle.com and go to the "stock care and replacement" subforum under gunsmithing about 2/3 to the bottom of the forum lists.  Read through some of the posts.  The moderator is candyman, he has quit a few postes and covers just about any stock repair you need.  He has done some amazing repairs and restorations.
Acraglass or Devcon epoxy are going to give you the best results.  I have used Acraglass to repair and restore several 1903 Springfield stocks.

I have had good results fixing cracks with Gorilla Glue.  It expands to completely fill the crack and drys hard.  I just let it ooz out of the crack, and clean it up with a razor blade once dry.
