I could have sworn we had a flashlight/laser forum but I can not for the life of me find it.
Anyways, I will say I like the tacti-coolness of the strobe flashlights from streamlight. I bought a Streamlight Stinger DS a few years back and fell in love with its adjustable brightness and the strobe for work and training. Now the handheld has proved useful for signalling helios from the ground ("the unit with the flashing light") during search and rescues. Now I bought a new weapon light for my duty gear and wanting the newest I snagged a TLR-1S, which has the strobe also. Now I am thinking about it, why? If I have a subject at gun point the last thing I want is a strobing light. While it *may* confuse the subject, wouldn't it have the same effect on the shooter? I havnt had a chance to run the setup in a shoot house or during force on force training. I also can not think of a situation where I would want a strobe on my gun. Maybe as the same as the handheld where I could be at gun point and instruct the ghetto bird to light me up and then strobe to show where I am? What would be a situation where I would use these besides showing off at the range? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Stand in the dark and strobe somehting, then have someone strobe you... big difference. |

It does seem like when I have the light attached to my pistol I am focused a lot more on my front sight, I'll have to go run this for a while and see what happens. ![]() I like the strobe feature on my fenix LD10, does the TLR1s have the ability to go from a regular to strobe function or is it always on strobe? Id like to get one but not if i dont have the option. only real down fall to the TLR series is they dont have a contor switch like the surefires. those are nice! ETA strobes work well during building searches. your next FOF should be fun, dont tell anyone you got it im not a cop BTW |
