Government regulations now prohibit selling US military ammo as surplus, they have a deal to buy it, but they must demilitarize it and sell it as components rather than ammo.

It's stupid, but that's our government!

You can thank Klinton for that bit of sillyness.

I have loaded all kinds of rounds with pulled bullets. As long as you are just using them as plinking rounds...they work great.

actually a good thing for us reloaders if you think about it.  More reloading components for us.

That silly Klinton rule backfired

And you can thank the guy that followed him for leaving it in place.

its a little easier to veto something initially then to try and overturn it

I love pulled 55gr bullets. They're CHEAP!
I thought the cases were being reloaded with the 62 grain steel core bullets?

it actually benefits us reloader, and screws the rest of the shooting community
im not all against it as it provides me with cheap(relatively) components.

Negative, it was done by executive order. Very easy to undo.

Pulled bullets shoot just fine, and the pull marks don't seem to hurt accuracy.

Remember these were not match bullets to start with.

I like the price also.

I actually kind of like it this way, packed ammo in cans/bandoleers is kind of expensive, pull down components are cheap by comparison.

I have 10K of pulled Grade 1 55grn FMJBT bullets w/o pull marks left from a couple of orders I placed with Pat's a few years ago.  They were like $19/K at the time.  Funny thing is that I find that with a bit of care, they can be loaded to be relatively accurate.  I'm not talking bullseye level but 1-1½ MOA seems to be what I can get with WC844 powder and Win primers.  I satisfied with them which is good 'cause as I said, I've got 10K of them left.
