so i ordered some tracer bullets just for fun and plinking, but i didnt realize how dirty they are.  they also said 55gr but its more like 53gr.  i planned on using my normal load rem brass, h335 and cci #41 for 55gr tips.  should i up my powder charge by .5 since these things are lighter?  i'd like to see a few light up but i dont really care if they do or dont.  They just seemed like a cheap bullet to buy for plinking since i cant find my normal hornady fmj-bt

I've loaded a bunch of those with H335 @ 25.5gr w/ CCI Mag sm Rifle primers.  Oh they are actually rated at 54gr M196 military.

Use the same charge, these are longer than M193 bullets.  And you should work up because this is a non-standard bullet.

I'd actually DROP my normal 55fmj  powder charge by 1/2 grain.

My tracer reloads are 25.5 of H335 and the CCI #41 primers. Trimmed LC brass with Lee factory crimp and a Colt 20" barrel.

I have got them from Hi tech before, but I see they are out.

I check them regularly for mil bullets.

No, but I am using 24.5 grains of Accurate 2230.

By the way, I got mine from Wideners.  I ordered 2 bags of 1200 each.  When they got here, I had one bag that was full of  the 54 grain bullets, and the other bag had 200-250 of the 62 grain bullets mixed in with the 54 grainers.  Not that big of a deal, but Wideners didn't do a very good job of sorting.
