I'm new to whole deal on buying suppressors I just got my trust and have picked out 6 suppressors I want to buy from silencer shop. If I'm going to buy some I might as well get what I want all at one and get it over with.
My question is and I know you guys can't tell me what people charge, but on average when you you do buy a suppressor whats the average price a dealer will charge (ball park ) to handle the transfer when silencer shop ships them to me. I know they have to be shipped to dealer here and transfered to me right ? What's a good/fair price so I can shop around for a fair dealer that's not going to take advantage of me. I mean 6 cans can add up. I live in tampa bay area of Fla. I have no problem driving a ways to a fair dealer for those of you that happen to live in fla that might know someone. By the time I buy the Suppressors Tax stamp Pay the local guy to handle the transfer ? I have no idea what that runs so I don't know how much to factor in to cost Thank you for any advice. I'm pretty excited about finally doing this. Oh and I'm doing a few on a form one and building them out of titanium. Screw on for 45, 9 mm pistols cost to build 300.00 each. I got the fever bad now. |

If you use the SS Powered By program, there is no transfer fee. If you choose a non-PB dealer, you're probably in the $50-$100 range for a transfer. What's the SS POWERED BY PROGRAM. Not to sound stupid.....but I am when it comes to this. See link above. It's a neat setup. They have a network of dealers that agree to handle transfers. SS handles the F3 and F4. You pay for the can, plus the stamp, but no transfer fee or sales tax (unless your state charges it, like I think WA does...granted, you're supposed to claim it on your taxes and pay at that point anyway). |

Oh I got it, thanks. I can do that. I'll get the ball rolling next week. Thanks guys I really appreciate you help. If you've never done anything like this before you just don't know where to begin. Thank you Mack It wouldn't hurt to check with local dealers (even those listed as SSPB dealers) and see if they have one in stock. That would save you some of the wait time, possibly at a slightly higher price. And yes, we all bought our first one at some point. |
