i asked this question on another forum and got nothing but people bashing these. there critiques generally followed -to heavy -unreliable -very inaccurate -and for $625 there were much better carbines on the market now i thought these would be a nice combat semi-auto SBR for vehicle usage or roomclearing but apparently no one else thought so. i would imagine there are more qualified opinions on this site. |

Yes the Vector UZI will serve you well. We sell many if them and they rarely come back, if they do they are normally from people using grease/cosmoline filled mags. Unless you can find a reliable HK94 clone then i dont think you can find a better semi version of a sub gun. |
They are very easy to SBR. I own a model B and a vector. They both are very reliable. I have done some tweaking to mine, but all of my weapons are "tuned" |

My vector Uzi is: Heavy Reliable Moderately accurate Very compact I have never had any function issues with mine except once it failed to load a round of polymer coated Wolf ammo when it was 10 degres F outside. Other than the weight and the difficulty of mounting an optic it is a really great, really overbuilt gun. [ETA] I have had both an MP5 clone and my Vector uzi, but I only have the Vector. What people always fail to mention about the HK system is it is a *bitch* to clean and take apart. The Uzi is the easiest firearm to clean and maintain that I have, literally 5 mintues to disassmble, clean, and reassemble. |
Pistol comment is tounge in cheek; IMO semiauto subguns are big pistols, regardless of if it's got a stock or not. A better choice for mounted use and CQB work would be either a Krinkov, a Vector V53. In other words, a little, handy carbine |
I would agree thatthe Krinkov and V53 to be excellent alternatives |
Theres the AR pistol caliber jobs. But yeah, if you want it for a collectible sure. Or if you want to put a can on it, I can see that as a plus; but given the choice I'll always choose a rifle caliber over a pistol, unless it's got a fun switch. |
Yes, the 9mm upper for an AR slipped my mind. Its a great choice for someone as well. I like to collect as well as shoot, so I had to have an UZI or two in my collection. |
The UZIs advantages were that it had a large capacity magazine, was compact, and still had a decent length barrel. It was meant to be used when concealment, portability, and firepower mattered. |
+1 ...The Uzi is a "wow-fun" gun to shoot/fondle/caress. Now, having said that, I'd suggest you stop trying to justify your purchase via the interweb, and just buy one. Don't have to get/not get any particular gun just for "combat." It's a gun for fun. "This is my rifle, this is my gun. This one is for shooting, This one is for fun." |
