What he said.  Especially the one with the large fill cap so you can reach inside to clean, or add ice cubes.

Camelbak makes the best bladder I've seen or used.   Blackhawk, Skillcraft, a couple other brands sold at REI and other local sporting goods stores are all second rate at best in comparison.

I've only had a Camelbak leak twice.  Once was a tear in the bladder, the other a bad oring in the cap.  The only other problem I've had was I couldn't get the removeable valve out of it's socket without pliers.  No big deal as I didn't use the filter adapter, or mask adapter with that one anyway.

Others I've used leaked at the bite piece, or hte on/off valve.  Some have leaked at the caps.  Blackhawks were issued to my batallion once, and over half of them had some sort of leakage problem.  These were new in the wrap when we got them.
The bite valve in the Camelbak also delivers more water than any of the other bite valves.  When I've used others that also had a manual valve, I'd just remove the bite valve.

+2

The rest don't taste as well, and lets face it they're ripping off CamelBak anyway.

I like the base models, the Thermoback, and the Storm.  Just for versatility.  I can use them alone, or just strap them to a bigger pack.

Some of the smaller cargo carrying ones are ok too, like the Hawg or MULE.  If you only need to carry a small amount.

I have a Motherlode, but don't use the bladder in it as it takes up a bit too much of the inside cargo space.

HSGI of course.
It will hold two 3 liter bladders.
I don't wear it on my chest rig, or Wasatch.
Its attached to my backpack or in the rear panel of mt WA.

do you use two bladders or use it for storage as well?

I have been using the same MSR bag now for 4 years.  I believe them to be more robust then the others.

I'd go for a storm or hot shot.  6L is a lot of water, but also a lot of weight. What else are you going to be putting on/in your vest?

well. i had enough coke rewards points to get a $75 gift certificate from ebags.com. I got the camelbak 3l reservoir and a nike duffel to use as a discreet go bag.

foxxnhound those look very tough.  I might have to put my two quarts aside and try bladders again.

The MSR Drom bags are polyurethane-coated Cordura, which makes them strong and relatively light, though I suspect they're heavier than a standard un-Cordura'd reservoirs (Camelbak doesn't list the weight of their reservoirs).

Tim,

Thanks again for the vest and belt.  When I get some money next month I'll give you a call about the MSR bags.
