This keeps happening with my gsg5,,,at least 2 or 3 times per mag.  Im using federal bulk pack .22 ammo.  Does anyone know what is causing this and how do i fix it,,,thanks

Looks like it isnt feeding into the chamber...like the bolt is slamming into it and its getting caught up on the breech face...

are you using a double mag clamp?

This happens to me when the lips of my mags get dirty. I wipe them down and this issue seems to go away. Try that and see if it helps. I hope that helps. Julio

This ^      I had that issue when i used a mag clamp,  also do not hold the gun by the magazine while shooting,  that will cause a feed failure like that.

like the gents above stated in one form or another its the mag.......what happens is when dirt, or powder buildup gets hung in one certain top corner of the mag... the round is unable to feed level...thus you get the real big tombstoners.

Clean mags, and very very lightly oil the rounds if need be.

i too have found it to be the mags.  federal bulk pack here as well.  check your mags.

has anyone ever heard of an out of battery kaboom from this?  when it happens, it really does a number to the round.  i suspect the bullet hits the feed ramp improperly, thus gouging it whilst the rim of the casing gets slammed by the breach face/bolt.  isn't it feasible this could cause the round to fire and then you'd have a big-time problem, or am i naive?  don't mean to be spreading FUD.

Your ? follows in some sort or another the principals of how after thousands of light primer strikes mixed with countless noobs at the outdoor shooting ranges leaving unfired ammo in the roadway..etc, and having them run over them all day without ever popping off a single one......if that is even possible the odds of that actual happening would be greater than getting struck by lightning i would bet.

I have put countless rimfire rounds through the laundry...both cycles pimping...along with a few other less than desirable scenarios and never had one go off accidentally .
