I like the A1 models for the metal trigger group. You need to decide what sights you want, stock, and barrel length. There are several models of A1, some with 18.5" barrels, others with 20". Both can be had with ghost ring sights or bead sights. The most common A1 models are the 51663 & 51668, and are easy to find. This LINK will show you some of the harder to find A1 variants. |

My Preferences are for the 18" 590's with the Vang Comp +1 mag tube: 1. 51411-8 Parkerized finish, synthetic stock, 12 gauge, 18.5" barrel, bead sight 2. 51410-1 Parkerized finish, speedfeed stock, 12 gauge, 18.5", Bead sight 3. 51517-7 Parkerized finish, ghost-ring sights, synthetic stock, 18.5 4. 51518-4 Speedfeed stock, ghost-ring sights, parkerized, 12 gauge, 18.5 Not sure why he has Civilian or Federal Compliance Required on them. Sure isn't on my LE/Mil Distributor notes. Why this order? 1. I replace the bead sights with LPA fronts and rail mounted rears. Before Install: ![]() 2. I'm not found of the ammo holding Speed feed stocks and I use the Limbsaver prefit Mossberg Pads. HATE THE HEAT Sheilds. They are also a fairly uncommon model. |

I agree with DMR, LPA sights are nicer than the factory Mossberg sights. However, the Mossberg sights aren't bad sights at all. I don't care for the Speedfeed stock either. I also don't know why the link I posted has some listed as "civilian". Oh, DMR, I was wondering if the prefit Sims pads fit the Mossy stocks. Are the 590 stocks different from standard Mossy stocks? It seems like my the 590 I just picked up has a different stock than my 835 (on loan right now so I can't verify). |
