Ok I live in CA and bought/registered a .50 bmg lower(dpms single shot) before they banned it last year. Since .50 bmg is banned in CA I can only legally build up my registered lower so please only list uppers/conversions. I have two different conversions in my mind. The ALS and the Ultra Mag 50. How does one compare to the other in accuracy? I want it to be accurate but at the same time I love the idea of having a mag. Which one would you get and why? Also are there any other brands that I should seriously consider??? Thanks -William |

Not sure how much difference there would be but the ALS and Ferret50 are single shots. The UM50 has a mag cut out in the receiver which will let it flex more and give up some accuracy. We shoot at Angeles Range the 3rd Sunday of each month if you want to come out, Mr Ben has a UM50. He usually brings it out, I'm sure I can talk him into bringing it if you want to give it a try. |
Safety Harbor Firearms (mfg. of the UltraMag50) now makes their own version of the DPMS 'California' lower as well: www.safetyharborfirearms.com/Single_Shot_Lower/single_shot_lower.html
