i want a big bore lever gun. which one is better? i dont reload and im into the lever gun thing. and i like to shoot. im 135 pounds and i can handle some recoil. ive heard the 450 kicks like no other. i can shoot a m38 nagant all day with just a t shirt. maybe the 444? how are ammo prices for these two?

Recoil is not as bad if you shoot in about any position besides sitting at a bench.  I'm going to get one of those PAST recoil shields.

Limbsaver recoil pad.A must for any thunder-boomer.
And my votes for the 450 Marlin. Ive always liked the SS Guide Gun with the ported barrel.

the marlin guide gun in 45/70 has a special place in my heart, perhaps someday.....

go big on this one, if it ends up being too much for you in stock form, throw a recoil pad on there, if its still too much, port the SOB.
