Shooting buddy is looking for a new electronic scale , main requirement is that it stays on a fair amount of time if it has auto off . What are  you guys using or would like to use ?

Veritas S123

When operating off battery has auto shut off. Minimizes drift when operated in battery mode. Has wall charger. Weighs within .02 and yes it's overkill.

Angus, there's a few guys who usually chime in who've bought jewelers grade scales for a third of my Veritas S123's cost. Super Sniper turned me on to pharmaceutical grade scales for loading long distance to keep ES under 25 and SD under 10. Given the results I'm seeing on paper and scale quality I'll never be able to load on a lessor scale. I admit it's overkill and many a long range shooter have gotten just as good or better results using scales that load to within a tenth of grain. Where a scale like Veritas shines is repeatability.

There's jewelers grade scales that do the same job for less than $150.00.

Of course there's always Dillon's Determinator.
