i did a search but didnt find any thing, also not a whole lot of info to be found with my google fu either
whats the deal with them? good bad middle of the road ?

and model im looking at inparticular is the 9mm wraith qd,  (not the xl)

i will be using it on a 9mm rifle  and my assortent of 9mm pistols (92fs, glock , maybe hk if i pony up for a barrel)

my question is will the qd model work on a pistol ? will i need a neilson device? are they(recoil enhancer) even made for this or am i totally on the wrong track with this can for duel use

The Wraith is for fixed barrel guns it will not work on pistols due to the lack of a booster. If you are looking for a can you can use on fixed barrels and pistols look at the Osprey from Silencerco or the Gemtech Multi mount.

Won't work on barrels that tilt without a booster. you can't get a booster for the Wraith its only for pistol call carbines ect... it will work with the 92fs because of the way barrel is.

I have a Wraith with the QD flash hider mount with the Acme style threads on the flash hider that the suppressor threads onto.  I use it on my Glock from time to time with the QD flsh hider mount,  but it sadly is only a single shot, not semi.
YHM told me only the standard thread mounted Wraith would work on a 92fs, not the QD wraith which is much heavier with the QD flash hider.

I wonder if someone could make a booster that would work with a QD Wraith, threaded on the Acme threads maybe???
I would buy that!!!!!

Mine is a great cheap can.  I have never run it on a 9mm pistol, but I do run it as an alternate can for my 22s (pistol and rifle).  Works great.

I have a wraith 9mm NON-QD

It runs on my Beretta 92 like a champ. I tried it on a Glock 19 and it did not cycle even once.

It works great on a 9mm AR as well.  But if the barrel tips. nope.

It suppresses ok. But not as well as more expensive cans for sure.  I have not shot it side by side. But friends with other cans have not been overly impressed with the sound level when they have shot mine.

Mine was one of the very first 1000 wraiths produced however. I do not know if the baffles have been redesigned.

The cobra is the same can but with a booster. I think they just figured why bother. I don't think the wraith was a big seller after the cobra came out.

They came out with the XL to replace the Wraith.

The XL is based on Sound Tech's U.S. Patent #7,073,426.

The 22lr Wraith is a Sound Tech design as well.

The set up is basically blast baffle and then angled plates.

here is a link to Sound Tech's patent listing.
