| I built me a 930 to use in 3 gun. I got a 24in barrel an +6 nortic extension tube an g&gg fallower for it. Opened up my load port myself an im sending the lifter to C-Rums this week to get it welded up. I got a modified choke in the gun now but what would be some good choices in chokes. Brand ect.? Is there any mods I can do to the bolt/action to make the gun cycle better? |

I am running a JM Pro and just recently added some Carlson chokes. I'd been running the stock IC and was doing fine, but being a 3 gunner means you have to try new stuff, all the time, just in case it could make you better/faster.
I bought a Carlson extended skeet and LM. After shooting Fiocchi 3/4 oz slugs from all three, wouldn't you know, my stock Mossberg IC groups and centers them the best. I am running skt most of the time now, unless faced with a Texas star or steel at 20 yds and beyond. I am going to pattern all three chokes this weekend at 10, 15 and 20 yards. I feel like MY barrel shoots pretty tight compared to some results I've seen with other 930's and similar chokes. Even the pros will tell you that MOST stages can be shot well with IC or LM 80-90% of time. Pattern your mod at different ranges then read some more, then buy something more open (C, Skt, IC). The mod should work for most anything out to 25ish yards, but at 5-10 yards it might slow your aiming down a little. Enjoy. |
