Getting Ready for Texas Multigun Championship match 2012 with Noveske Rogue Hunter.
Ignore .308 groups on 4 corners 
Long range load ready for Larue 
Tested 77 grain Nosler load again 
Short range loads tested for Larue. I am using the 52 grain Sierra load as I am out of the Hornady bullets. 
My accuracy seems to be declining I think. Some weird un called flyers are running my group averages. I may need to clean the comp. Not sure what is causing this. For the good news My 100 yard zero with 52 grain Sierra’s has the same hold points in my scope till 480 yards (max distance at Larue match ie Texas Multigun in April 2012) as my 77 grain Lapua load. My 100 yard zero with the 52’s puts my 77 grain Lapua load 3 inches high at 100 yards which puts me on for a 220 yard zero with that load and then the hold points also match to 480 yards. I drew up a range card but its easy to remember in the Swarovski. First bar is 300 yards, the dot down from that is 400 yards the bar down from that is 480 yards. This is the same for both loads. All I have to do is remember to dial my scope down one click before any long range stage. If I forget the worst that will happen is I will be off 2.6 inches at 480 yards. The gun can do it, now I just need to be able to do it. That is another story. Shooting off of bags is easy. Shooting in whatever contorted position the match director has in mind at these targets with a 20 mile full value cross wind is another. I just have to remember not to go to war on the steel. |

Never shot buckshot out of my shotgun so I need to see how that patterns as well One piece of advice with buck shot as I have patterened it. You can over choke it. Meaning I found the best patterns with IC and modified. Full choke was worst and huge holes in the pattern. Pat |
Thanks for the tip, I usually just keep the IC in at all times, just don't like foolin with the flush mounts too much that came with the shotgun. Hopefully this year on the long range I wont have to shoot at a 4in grey target when the suns coming up again using irons, couldn't even see the damn thing

I talked to a buddy of mine who works as a CO at the prision and they have a nice range that goes to 500 yards he said he can get me on to confirm my long range holds. Will do that monday. and why dont we have matches there???..... Its a Department of Corrections Range there is no way I could get a match there that would be open to the public. Sorry. I host matches at the range I am a member at but we only go out to 180 yards. So I used small targets to make up for the lack of distance. Pat |

Well my dope is good to 400 and thats as far as I could test. Handgun is ready, shotgun is ready rifle is ready, but I am nervious again damn. Will post pics and videos of the match when I am done.
Managed to get all my three gun gear into two hard cases that weigh just under 50 pounds. Now I will see if I can get my clothes and misc into a carry on bag lol. Pat |
