I am getting ready to mount a scope on my AR. I was wondering what height rings to use. I was looking at the high see thru but wanted some opinions.
Thanks |

Most standard scope rings won't let you mount the scope far enough forward to get a comfortable cheek weld w/ the proper eye relief. A Larue, ADM, or Bobro mount cantilevers the scope slightly over the front of the receiver to allow additional eye relief. There are other options for non quick-detach mounts that are less expensive. Warne makes a good mount and the Burris and Nikon mounts are popular too.
Warne http://warnescopemounts.com/product/r-a-m-p-mount/ ADM http://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/5/ Larue's website is down right now or I'd post a link to it also. Good mounts aren't cheap, and generally cheap mounts aren't good. You just have to pick what's important to you. |
