The bearing head slips on the base. I moved and put one together myself. You do need a pickup to haul it if you don't want to unbolt the arms. |

I just checked the GT star out and holy crap our club has one probably from the early 2000's if I had to guess based on the wear. It still works. A new one is cheaper and lighter but that design is definitely not as robust as an MGM. Like everything in life there are trade offs. |
