If you had to pick one character from the movie HEAT that you thought was a cool operater which person would you pick?

Al Pacino = Lt Vincent Hanna LAPD with the FNC carbine

Roberto Deniro = Neil McCauley the leader of the bank robbers

Val Kilmer = Chris Shiherlis the guy that used the HK G3 at the drive in shoot out, and the M16 shorty carbine at the bank shoot out

John Voight = Nate the older guy

Danny Trejo = Trejo the mexican guy

Tom Sizemore = as Michael Cherrito, the guy that used a Galil at the bank robbery

Dennis Haysbert = Donald Breedman as the getaway driver that Deniro recognized at the diner as a former inmate from Folsom.

Kevin Gage = Waingro the guy that double crossed Deniro and ratted on him

McCauley, bar none.

Neil was the coolest until he ignored his own advice.

The coolest was whatever gun Al Pacino used.  Which one was it again???

If there's a movie and Val Kilmer is in it, chances are he's the coolest character.

kilmer's handling of the m16 shorty during the bank robbery shootout was very nice.  wish that I could reload like that.

Pacino wins marginally over DeNiro just because of the scene when he finds the dude at his house and his moonbat wife is cooking him breakfast.  Also got points for fucking hard with tone loc.

Kilmer. If RD hadn't let things get personal at the end he would have won hands down though.

DeNiro. As if there were any contest.

"Look at me. Look. At. Me."

BANG!

I thought Sizemore's character was cool until he picked up a little girl as cover from police gunfire.
What a pussy.

Kilmer got away at the end, remember when he tried to go home and the police were waiting at his house, then he pretended to be somebody else and got past the police check.

he's a cool operator!

It was an HK91. Damn, now we're going to have to see "What gun did Kilmer use during the drive-in scene in HEAT?" threads for the next 10 years.

IIRC, Waingro used a FAL in the opening scene.

DeNiro, of course; oh, and the rifle that Kilmer used in the Drive In was NOT a FAL, it was a G3.

Better picture angle to show what I mean; the G3 usually doesn't have a bipod and the furniture is green on most of them; so my initial assumption was that this was a scope-less SG1, but since the SG1 has an adjustable cheekpiece, but in this angle, I cannot see the cheekpiece, so it can be either a G3 or an SG1.

Yup. Chris gets away.

Wife(Justin) fooled around because Hanna was more intersted in chasing criminals than cuddling with her.

My all-time favorite movie. My vote: Kilmer. DeNiro goes down as the all-time biggest badass as McCauley in this flick, but credit must be given where its due. Chris got away. Filthy rich. McCauley let his own lust for vengeance get him killed. Kilmer is the coolest operator.

It's just an HK91 unless it's got a happy switch, which would make it a G3. The bipod, buttstock, etc. are all interchangeable between the two, just like the parts between the M16 and AR15.

Everyone else in the crew got a dirtnap.  I'd say that walking away with his life made it a big deal.

It is a HK91 with a bipod not a G3. Look at the trigger group S and F or 1 and 0. There are just two settings, and it is a metal trigger pack.....so it is semi not fully like the G3.

and i love his H&K
