Just picked up a new PC the other day. I've ran FF in the past and always liked it, but I'm a little out of day on some of the newer browsers like Google Chrome.

Is the newest version of FF worth installing, or should I look at something different?

I have tried them but I still prefer IE9.

I like Firefox.

I use FF, but I believe Flash functions better on Chrome.  Chrome doesn't absorb more and more memory the longer you have it open, like FF does either.

IMO:
FireFox by far and away.
Chrome is OK but not as good as FF.
Anything IE sucks!!!

I'm assuming that even thought I will download FF...I still need to keep IE on my computer right?

FF is better.

Chrome "Hiccups", or freezes up on me from time to time.  It hasn't happened since the latest Upgrade, but  it was rare to begin with.

That being said, I have, in preferences and web pages running: Safari, FireFox, Opera and Chrome.

They all have their little foibles that make me hop from one browser to another.

If you're gonna use Chrome, use this:

FF is the browser for me.

Chrome, meh, Google is starting to get kind of a monopoly on some serious information.

Correct. Internet Explorer is not just a web browser, but it handles things like browsing folders in Windows. If you were to somehow uninstall IE, your computer would be kind of screwed up.

Also, unless you rely on the Windows Automatic Update tool, you need IE to download updates for your operating system.

Firefox 4.0 Beta 6 is my current browser.  Before that, Chrome.  Before that, Firefox 3.8.x.

Ffx 4 will be good, but it still a tad flaky.  Chrome *is* good, but the plugins don't compare with Firefox.  Opera is fast, but feels bloated.

Don't count IE out, right now it is probably as good as anything out there. I don't use it much, but that is mostly because I am just so used to FF these days. I have tried Chrome several times and just don't like it.

IE is a worthless piece of shit.  Ask any web site designer.  Ask anyone who has to remove spyware off machines.

IE has so many security holes in it, you can drive a tank through it.

Not true as of Windows 7.

So if I'm running Windows 7....I can completely uninstall IE without any issues?

I've gone back and forth between FF and Chrome.  I really want to like Chrome, and it became much more attractive after they added Adblock, but I still encounter problems and incompatibilities with it, so I'm back again to Firefox, for the time being.

Chrome for me.  Used to use Fire Fox but seems a little slower to me.
