I remember when I was a crazy , invincible teenager I would pass cars on the incline of a bridge, right before the peak. Looking back I realize how lucky I am to be walking today.

we have to apply liberal logic here...
we need to ban bridges and personal property, they're obviously the problem. |

Sorry to hear that.
But for the Grace of God.... I was a very stupid teenager. |

Damn..a moment of stupidity just ended and changed lives forever.
Sad. |

I still remember an accident that happened out my way about 15 years ago, kid just got out of high school for the day and killed himself, his step sister, his girlfriend and the poor schmuck who was moving out of the county because he crossed a double yellow in his brand new Mustang to pass a friend (playing leapfrog, they called it)

Who knows what really happened. I've started a perfectly safe pass a dozen times over the years but the car I was passing thought he was king of the road and sped up to keep me in opposing traffic. It's usually an old man.
I have a dash cam now so if it happens again I can post video. |

Oh, no food delivered to your local store? Tough! Starve to death. Yes, and the utopian socialists have "computer driven cars" as their next lofty goal to save us from ourselves. The only greater invasion of privacy and increase of government control over people's lives that I can think of would be if they actually did start implanting us with microchips, but that won't stop them. |

Slow down people. That minute or so you save is not worth eternity. View Quote I can never quite figure out why some people are so dead set on passing when I'm already going five over, and all they're going to do is get stuck at a light a few miles down the road. If they were actually in a hurry for something important they'd just run the light, so as far as I can tell they're just being idiots. Similarly, people who speed up while being passed need to be slapped. A lot of the dumber people seem to do it because they are too dumb to pay enough attention to maintain speed, and seeing someone pass them snaps them back to reality... at which point they don't think about what they're actually doing. |

Just you wall wait, the government is going to have companies like Google doing all sorts of stupid shit with the self-driving cars.
I wouldn't trust Google to organize a fuckup in a whorehouse, I sure as hell don't trust them to not screw up self driving cars. |

we have several short bridge sections out here.
there are cross memorials at all of them at one time or another. |

Some dumb shit killed himself and a friend out my way about a couple months ago. 120 mph on a twisty road at 3am cut the car in half with a utility pole. And his dumb shit friends put a jegs sticker on the replacement pole, I'm tempted to put a Darwin fish up.

Sucks for them and especially for their family but having been hit by one of those stupid kids as well as working way too many of their wrecks, I hope the innocents are alright.

Aren't more people killed or injured by cars than by firearms? View Quote Killed, it's about exactly 1:1, 30k per year each. Often not mentioned though, 2/3 of the firearm related deaths are suicide, so I don't count them. A rope or short fall, both with the assistance of gravity, are just as effective. Also, don't think any of the vehicle ones are classified as justified self defense. |

That would never work. So they should ban gasoline by executive order. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Ban cars. Only ban gas above 75 octane. You can still have gas, just nothing useful. |

Oh, no 'manual control' option? Fun-sized cattle-cars. If I can electronically tell a car to go to where I want it to go, then it's a piece of cake for someone else to tell that car to go where they want it to go instead. |

That's a heck of a bridge. Around here, the bridge over the James River is sometimes the only safe spot to pass a logging truck, or an over-length semi trying to shortcut through the mountains. Even though it's a double yellow, it is way safer than half of the passing zones due to lower speeds and increased visibility compared to the passing zones. |

All I can say is.
Do stupid trick. Win stupid prize. Darwin wins. |
