Just received a letter in the mail stating that they were hacked and ID's uploaded to verify age were compromised. So, per the letter, any information that was uploaded (your drivers license information) is compromised.
They're offering 1 year identity protection. This comes off the OPM hack that I received a letter about. Just an FYI as I suspect some of you may be affected. |
That's like the 5th time my info has been compromised in the last couple years.

Have not got that letter but dont think Ive bought anything from AIM that I had to upload my ID.
Ive bought some lowers and a pistol from them but I dont remember uploading my id for those. |
Letter from AIM?
Sounds like a sales pitch or phishing scam if it wasn't. |
Awesome.
I haven't received any notification yet. Tag for verification. AIM was the last online vendor I submitted my ID to years ago. I stopped dealing with businesses that have such policies for just this reason. |
How about asking Bryan over in the industry forums if its a legit letter
I havent gotten anything yet either. I have my Id and C&R uploaded there.

Have not received any notifications about a hack from them.
Waiting to see if AIM will chime in here or in their Industry forum. I buy stuff from them all the time including ammo. |

Motherless f*%#*s, how do they let this crap happen
Aim is off my shopping list |
I got the same letter. I'm currently using the OPM credit/fraud monitoring so I'm wondering if I need to go through with this monitoring also.
You're offering me ID protection? How about you not keep electronic copies of our IDs you nitwits. |
I froze my credit last month,i hope thats a good deterrent if this is true
Is there a place when you login you can see if you have one uploaded? I don't remember

My ID has been hacked so many times I no longer bother.
Yeah, I have credit alerts etc, active for many years now. |

Same. Nobody else requires a copy of your DL to buy ammo. It bothers me enough that I've never purchased from them, even though I've wanted too. |

Bought ammo. from them in the past but it's been awhile. Already have ID monitoring for this reason but damn they need to drop that policy before customers drop them. Other companies don't require this ..you just check a box confirming you are of legal age with no legal impediments and done.

If they only worried about you, and not themselves, they wouldn't be in business. |

Been a long time since I purchased ammo from them. I haven't gotten an email yet, so I'm hoping they purge DLs every few years.
I purposely don't buy ammo from them because of that stupid fucking requirement.
Never understood making customers jump through hoops for something that isn't necessary by law. |

My edited DL was up there, I did not see it on my last checkout a week ago. I do not see my ID up there now.
no email from Bryan, I checked my junk mail too. |

I don't necessarily think we should blame AIM right off the bat. Hackers gonna hack. I will say that I don't buy ammo from anyone who requires a copy of my DL. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

And I know people are going to say don't buy from them blah blah blah, that's bullshit they should be watching out for the customers not pushing them away because of BS ID crap. And, if the customer is willing to trust them then they should take steps to guarantee the info is protected. Motherless F...........s |

I don't know why they store the images of your license(s). If they absolutely must have them, why not check a box on their end in the database that you are valid once they receive the image, and then delete the image?
Fuck... Ass... |
