It's not unusual in a general election for all of NY to go red except for the 5 boroughs. The 5 boroughs have a large enough population to dictate leadership down to the rest of us, whether it be for governor of NY or president of the US.
I live on Long Island and I have to say I've never seen the support so incredibly one sided toward the republican candidate. It's like 2008 except those Obama/Biden signs have turned into Trump/Pence and 'Hillary for Prison' signs (even more so for Trump/Pence). It's pretty remarkable. It's humbling to see so many people aware and engaged in this election. I have no clue how accurate any of these polls are but based on visuals and local discussion I'm hopeful. |

Trump signs outnumber Hillary signs by at least 30:1 around here(upstate). Sadly, as you said, NYC usually determines elections in NY
Upstate. Trump signs everywhere. I see more Trump hate on this forum than I see in NY.
Out in the burbs here, I don't see any yard signs for either Trump or the living hell
Normal signs for the local voting |
I commute from Suffolk to Manhattan. Trump sign and stickers 20 to 1 during the commute, in Manhattan still more Trump but maybe 5 to 1. At least there are people in this liberal sinkhole that are trying, unlike here in GD.
In central Fl I haven't seen a single Hillary sign. Only trump.

Went from Ronkonkoma to the 1+3 trains at Penn down into the financial district. My round trip commute was 4 - 5 hours. I now telecommute. What a life style change. |

It would interesting to hear what the finally vote tally will be in the five boroughs as compared to the actual number of registered voters.

Agree with OP, Trump/Pence signs everywhere (Suffolk County, haven't been to Nassau).

Can you imagine the liberal tears if NY goes red this time around??

Can you imagine the liberal tears if NY goes red this time around?? View Quote It's the stuff fantasies are made of. I think 4 of the 5 boros (Staten Island excepted) will go D, as will Nassau. There will be 2 or 3 other upstate counties besides Albany that go D also. I feel a Trump vibe in Suffolk, and think it will go R. All that said, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx alone can carry the state to the D side. |
NY would have a much better chance of going red if everyone upstate would get off of their ass and get to the polls.
in deep Blue MD I have only seen 2 Hillary signs all year.
I pass 20+ Trump signs just going to the store. |
In Phoenix Az, I have never even seen a hillary yard sign, plenty of Trump signs. Bumper stickers are probably 20 Trump to every H. Hell I still see more obama 12 bumper stickers than hillys
My area is heavily blue and I haven't located a single Hillary supporter yet
In 2012 I couldn't walk anywhere without tripping over an Obama sign |

I've met several people who haven't voted in ages who have said they intend to vote this year against Clinton. Anecdotal evidence though- I will believe it when I see it. |

Did you drive by a grave yard?
All grave yards are supporting Hillary. |

I have some neighbors down the street (I don't know them) who had Trump signs out a few weeks ago. Then, right after the pussy video was released, they were gone. Not sure if they were stolen, the residents were embarrassed to keep them out, or they completely gave up on Trump.
I hope it was the first, but I suspect it might have been the latter. Around where I drive, it is mostly Trump signs I see in the rural areas, but as soon as I get into the towns, it becomes saturated with Hillary signs. Why is it that commie libs all cluster around city/town centers? |

NY is lost.
The sooner you realize it and leave, the better off you will be. |

You don't see many Hillary signs around here. I've seen 5. You know why? Because in safe blue states, they don't give them away. You have to order them and pay for them. Hillary will win NY by 20 points or more. |

What the hell is a "borough"? Is that similar to what us westerners call a county?
