The thread below got me thinking how glad I am not to be a millennial and lucky enough to take time off and get out of town once in a blue moon.
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1944240_Millennials-detest-vacation-and-they-re-dedicated-to-their-work.html

Let's see some recent vacation pictures.  They don't have to be fancy or elaborate.  Even a weekend trip a few hours away counts.

Here are a few of mine. This was a cottage that I rented out in the Hill Country a few weeks ago.  Living in the city makes you appreciate the rural parts of Texas a lot more than you might if you already live there.  It was a nice, peaceful spot to spend a few days.

A couple of weeks later I stayed at this bed and breakfast a few blocks from the beach in Galveston.  It's not far from home but it was nice to watch the sun rise and set by ocean.

Me, the wife & kids took a road trip this past July (we love road trips).  From Austin we went to Roswell, Albuquerque, Pueblo, Durango, Flagstaff, Socorro, Alamogordo, and many places in between.  Some iPotato pics:

Sandia Peak tram in Albuquerque

Stopped for lunch in Eagle Nest, NM

Lake Isabel, CO

Bishop Castle in CO. Pretty cool place.  I did not climb up it but my kids did.

Passed through Ouray.

Stayed in Durango and rode the narrow gauge train to Silverton.

Four Corners

Very Large Array (VLA) west of Socorro, NM

Space museum in Alamogordo, NM

White Sands

The southernmost tip of Baja California in Cabo San Lucas.

The resort we stayed in.  Hope to go back in a few months.  These aren't my photos, but they are similar to photos I took on our vacation.

My view from the houseboat I stayed on at Bud n Mary's marina in Islamorada in march this year. It was one of those "I got to get away from here" long weekend vacations.

Never mind. I guess the picture uploader is still broken. #200 http error and a few 503 errors as well. This site is buggy as fuck lately.

That was our last night.  We had dinner and drinks at Durty Nelly's and everyone else was ready for bed... but I was bored so I went to the hotel bar and watched the olympics with a wedding party from England.  Much later that night, I walked in the room... showered... and passed out in the chair for a bit before heading to the airport.
