They are all beautiful but I find mocha or medium brown to be the most lovely. A close second would be jet black if she has an accent.

This discussion is of course for gentlemen who might enjoy the company of a Nubian Princess.

The scale is typically graded on how much of it I can see to begin with.

African ultra-black is very attractive on some women, especially if they have the tall, toned statuesque build and the right facial features.
If I'm going for lighter shade women I prefer olive skinned southern European or light/medium brown skinned Latinas.

I find it difficult to make hard rules in what I find attractive, because it usually reflects across multiple dimensions.

This. There are no hard and fast rules - things can come together and make that woman super hot. Change one thing and she goes from a 10 to a 6.
