Wanenmacher's Tulsa Arms Show Nov 13 & 14, 2021 Saturday: 8am-6pm Sunday: 8am-4pm Host: ContraHQ at island 7 C, upper level. Sunday Breakfast will be at the Black Bear Diner at 6:45 AM Attending Arfcom Members that will be Vendors: ContraHQ Island 7C, upper level RebleYell --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the official Role Call for the Wanenmacher's Tulsa Arms Show (backbencher has prior engagements, and asked me to post the official thread). If you need to contact the OP, please use ARFCOM IM. Wanenmacher Pro Tips Wear comfortable footwear, there is almost 6 miles of tables. Purchase advance tickets (locations will be posted when published) to avoid lines and delays. Better yet work with a vendor and get a vendors badge which gets you immediate in/out access at the more numerous vendor doors. Plan on being at the show from 8AM to near 5PM on Saturday, and 8AM to 3 PM on Sunday if you want to cover it all. That will average just under 14 seconds per table. There will be some excellent "state fair" type of food booths to be able to buy a decent lunch, but they are not cheap. Book your hotel early for best rates, IM the OP if you are unsure what part of town. Official Tulsa Arms Show Hotel List Bring a backpack if you plan on purchasing much. (Also, OP will offer under table stash space at my vendor location [table location will be posted at a later date] for ARFCOM members). If you purchase bulk ammo, OP has a loaner cart. Bring lots of cash. Most of the great deals will be small vendors that only deal in cash and the ATM lines can get long. A buddy and I are planning on going to hunt pre-lock S&W revolvers. N frame snubbies in my case with an eye out for a 3" 65 or 13. For anyone that has been there do people actually set up tables to sell guns or is it like all the other gun shows I go to where old men just use it as an opportunity to show off their collection and price things three times what they are worth so they don't accidentally sell something? |

I haven't been to one in years. It was just too crowded in there and was difficult to get close enough to some tables to look at anything. Used to be some OK deals there, but there are also plenty of people who don't seem to want to sell anything. If you go, get advance tickets. The show's website should have a list of places that have them. Saves a ton of time standing in line. |

Not really looking for anything in particular this year. Last years highlight: Attached File 1932 Winchester 52 preA speedlock for a great price. Picked the scope up on ebay but there where several at the show. Just missed a Winchester highwall in 40-82. Didn't buy it and walked back 5 minutes later and someone had just bought it.  It really is a great show if you haven't been. The rest of the Tulsa shows are ok but nothing like the Wanenmacher show. |

It has been years since I've been and now that I am recently (semi-)retired, I finally have time to go. My FIL lives in South Tulsa, so fortunately no hotel room for me. I'm driving this time so it is a 1700+ mile roadtrip each way. Why not fly? I am not masking up for any airline. Now the important question, where do y'all like to go to dinner? Two of my favorites in South Tulsa are Mahogany's and Charleston's. If near downtown, almost anything around Cherry Street is good. If by myself, I gravitate towards local cheap eateries like Coney I-lander hot dogs, Goldie's burgers and Hideaway pizza. I may even stop at Braum's on the way out of town. See y'all in November. |

| Don't they have a rule for that show that 98% of the tables have to be guns or gun related merchandise? It may have been 95% or something like that, I really can't remember. What I am getting at is if you are looking for beanie babies and costume jewelry you will be disappointed, there are actually guns there, and most of them for sale. |

That is correct, and with the price of tables it weeds out the flea market vendors. Back in the 80's I had tables at the Big One for a few years. It was a magical place if you like firearms! I stopped going in the last few years as I don't walk as well as I used to, and I basically stopped buying firearms as I have all I can ever use. Some tips for those who are going for the first time: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring a bag you can put purchased items in. I sometimes brought a small military surplus backpack. It came in very handy. Buy tickets before getting to the show as the lines to buy tickets can be long sometimes. If you bring a firearm with you, you will most likely stand in line for a while to have it checked and stickered. I hope this helps-enjoy! |

Non-Oklahoma residents may only sell, buy, & trade w/ an Oklahoma dealer - and only acquire rifles & shotguns. Most non-FFLs have a tame dealer nearby, or you can negotiate to have the item shipped to your LGS. If you have a C&R FFL, then you may acquire any C&R firearms there. I don't have a C&R, but I've bought several antiques wandering the show. |
