Please photoshop this photo of a billboard that has appeared around the town of Rockford, IL featuring the anti-gun police chief there holding a silly sign. The opportunities are rich. John  Police, citizens ASK for Chief Chet “ASK” Epperson to be removed Anti-self-defense Rockford Police Chief Under Fire Rockford, IL (Guns Save Life) - Rockford, Illinois police chief Chet Epperson has been been at the center of controversy in recent weeks in Rockford. He has been quite vocal in his efforts opposing citizens’ rights to own firearms while at the same time alienating 98% of the officers in his department. Epperson has been supporting the “ASK” program - an anti-self-defense program where concerned parents are supposed to ask the parents where their children play if there are guns in their homes. Ignoring other threats thousands and tens of thousands of times more hazardous to children's health along with the benefits derived from private gun ownership, the campaign’s sole focus would seem to be the demonization of firearm ownership. The Rockford police chief appears on billboards around Rockford sporting a sign that says “Over 5,000 kids in Rockford live in homes with guns.” The sign directs viewers to a website set up by the PAX out of New York City. Epperson doesn’t stop with demonizing gun owners. He also confiscated the privately owned firearms in addition to the duty guns of two of his police officers following an internal disciplinary matter in the department. That unusual action has now resulted in a federal civil rights lawsuit. The chief’s arrogant antics have led to the local police union calling publically for his removal following a 276-6 vote of ‘no confidence’ by the department’s members. |
