It's amazing, I'm a native Mainer, have been vacationing in one place or another up there my entire life, but have never been to Moosehead … . This is the first time I'd been in that area in 30 years. I was fortunate to have an old flame show me around. She's been there for about 12 years or so and knew all the cool little spots off the beaten path. We had a very memorable 5 days.

Beautiful place. Been there many times myself. I remember the black flies well.... OH......HELZ........YEAH !! 
I see that they stopped making the OFF with 100% Deet..........the 30% stuff they sell now does nothing against the Moose Flies. I think they rather like the stuff. |

I haven't been fishing in over 30 years .........it's just something that didn't appeal to me then . Now it seems, every time I see someone fishing ,I get an itch to start tossing a hook. Fly fishing just looks so elegant and artistic . I need to make a deal with my GF to teach me to fish if I teach her to shoot LR.

Wow! I was out of state when you posted this and missed it. (next time IM me a link!) 
I took my camera up there to a friends camp on beaver cove on a snowmobiling trip last winter. I got up there and took one picture and the batteries died. I kept forgetting to pick them up at Indian Hill and never did. I was pretty ticked at all the pictures I would have liked to take. We spent 4 days, rode everywhere. millinocket, brownville, northeast carry and seboomook, all over, one of the best times I've ever had up there, and I've never had a bad time at camp. |
