It's been illegal in many states and a big reason is their headlights are always blinding everyone else on the roadway. They also don't have mud flaps on most of them so rocks are getting thrown in peoples windshields. Most driving those trucks are high school kids trying to impress their bro's while blasting out crappy Bro-Country.

And just for those winking and nudging about certain racial demographics, this is almost exclusively a white thing.

Besides the fact that it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen done to a truck, how can anyone not understand the glaring safety issues?

Living in the upstate I have only saw one or two of those.
Must be a thing somewhere else in the state. |

These guys can get sued into oblivion in car accidents.
Granted that's the case for most obnoxiously lifted trucks |

The squatted truck thing is a legit safety hazard. I saw accidents all the time around town from these guys I understand there was nothing on the books that specifically addressed squatted/lifted trucks like this. What's confusing me is that I assume there are existing laws that address poor visibility out of a motor vehicle, and laws that address bumpers being raised to high, and unsafe alterations to vehicles, etc. I don't have a problem with going after unsafe vehicles. I am just wondering why new/more laws are being passed, when it seems very likely that existing laws on the books could presumably address all of the safety issues. But, perhaps this makes more sense. I dunno. |

Quoted: Quoted: First they came for the trucks i dont like I think its a dumb trend too but we live in a free country and need less dumb laws Free country doesn't mean you get to ride around in an unsafe vehicle on public roads, endangering others. For once, a law is actually dealing with a legitimate problem, and GD can't wait to REEEEEE about .gov overreach. |

It just goes to show how fucking stupid people are in general. Do something really dumb and dangerous and people will imitate you even if it costs them thousands to do so.

Never heard the term Carolina squat, I always refer to them as “stink bugged” out. I’ve also noticed they seem to all have some kind of huge lettering on the back window and always seem to be rolling with the windows down and some kind of crossover country hip hop blasting.

Fuck that shit, they blind everyone and often run over stuff, like kids. SC doesn't give a fuck what you do to your car so long as it isn't this stupid and unsafe. No problem at all with where they're drawing a line. |

Enjoy any sort of truck lift being banned next citing "safety".
Yup, the lift in yhe front clearly causes giant visibility issues worse than if an even lift were applied. But that bumper height nonsense will be deployed by ebvirin karens looking for the next incremental step. |

Only an inbred retard would drive a truck like that. Not a good look.

Quoted: Living in the upstate I have only saw one or two of those. Must be a thing somewhere else in the state. View Quote I saw more of them in NC than SC. There were already laws on the books about improperly adjusted headlights and obstructed vision, as retarded and gay as this trend is- and it's way up there- there were already laws on the books that could have been used. Of course given the unsafe manner in which so many people here drive and the cops don't do anything about it I have to wonder how often this will actually be enforced. Honestly, like most fads, it seems to have been going away on its own; of the few I know/knew of around here I haven't seen most of them in a while. Now if I could just get that retarded kid with the massive subwoofer in his Jeep Cherokee to quit rattling the neighborhood windows with crappy country music..... |
