And yeah, I'm pretty sure if the Line Up card section for Pitchers was just (Crowe) (Random Guy in the Stands) (Random Guy in the Stands) (Random Guy in the Stands) (Random Guy in the Stands) (Random Guy in the Stands) (Random Guy in the Stands) (Random Guy in the Stands) (Random Guy in the Stands) Rodriguez we'd have a better chance at a win than we did tonight. If anyone is curious, and even if they aren't, today is the 175th anniversary of the first recorded baseball game under Alexander Cartwright's rules. It was played at the Hoboken, NJ, Elysian Fields between the New York Base Ball Club and the New York Knickerbockers with Cartwright umping.
The Knickerbockers lost 23-1. |

Quoted: Can you believe it's already been 18 years since the Beer Guys' Italian Sausage got assaulted by Pirate 1B Randall Simon. To quote one of the announcers when Marge's pretzels laid Whitey Ford low, it was "a black day for baseball." https://www.mlb.com/news/the-racing-sausage-and-randall-simon?t=offbeat https://i.imgur.com/DCBF1kG.jpg View Quote Fun fact. I was at that game, almost directly above(loge level) where it happened. IIRC it was a dollar dog night. |

Our seats were on the next to highest level of the Upper Deck right side grandstands about even with First Base. That picture was on the ground level next to a beer seller. Just getting to the ground level was a journey in itself that involved us in the bowels of PNC Park. Spent ended up on TV, but that's his tale to tell. |

Harold Ramrez homers twice (vid)
I'm in the blue Ramrez jersey. If that homer were 8ft to the left it would've been mine. |

We were both standing at the rail/bar next to the beer vendor. We got there from our nosebleed seats about the 5th inning and just stayed there sucking down suds. The drunk next to me said my hatred of Joe Buck was a level of hatred he had never encountered before. I brought my glove with the plan of catching a foul ball, giving it to some needy kids, and then having his single mom thank me by blowing me in a stairwell during the 7th inning stretch, but Operation Get Some was a failure. Still, I remain convinced the theory is sound. |
