And it has MK23 pistol porn.

I dug it. I just rewatched it again the other day. Just like Last Man Standing, I think it's another underrated Bruce Willis movie.
I tried to watch that movie when it first came out, I was bored I fell asleep.
I watched it for the first time when it came on netflix. enjoyed it more than I thought it would, even with some of the goofy gun flubs like the backwards dot.
Yeah, it is pretty decent, except maybe at the very end of it. I've seen a lot worse attempts to depict such action that have not done as well a job at it.
OP is not wrong.
It's definitely fictional but a great story idea and still very cool. |
it's an OK movie. I did a literal eye-roll though when the one guy shoots the M-14 emitting a suppressed rifle shot .... sans suppressor!
I rewatched it a few weeks back. It did not age well
I used to love it. Now it just looks bad, the action was shitty and unrealistic and the plot was kinda lame, the gear was fucked up and it stuck to the sterotpypes. -Guy who loved American Sniper and The Hurt Locker. |
Thought it was fun and the leading lady was pleasant to gaze upon.
It's not even approaching "accuracy" as for the military stuff goes, but it's still a good story told well.
Yeah a fifty year old SEAL LT kind of blew it for me. Still a good flick.

My PL and PSG were huge Die Hard/Pulp Fiction/Bruce Willis fans. They both came up with the idea to make a Sergeants' Time Training event out of the Platoon seeing this movie in the theatre.
A good time was had by all. This of ourse was before the time of $10 buckets of popcorn and $5 Cokes. |
I liked it.
Really liked the scene were one of his guys said they could just go around the village where the massacre was happening and he replied by drawing his Mk 23 and threading on the suppressor. Really said all that needed to be said, without saying anything. And the "they pissed me off" scene. Totally out of place and something you aren't supposed to let happen, but it's something you understand. |

uxb's Tears of the Sun.
Team meets Monica Belluci. She refuses to board helo. Bruce Willis grabs her around the waist and throws her over his shoulder. Doc shoots her in the ass with Ketamine. Willis carries her to the chopper. They all fly off, mission accomplished. Everyone else can remain in Africa, doing what Africa does best. |

I saw in the theater and was entertained. The wife couldn’t believe we would leave those people like they did at first.

the weapons, gear, uniforms, the advisors and props department hit it out of the park.
Was in HI when they were filming it, love seeing that red dirt!!!! |

View Quote I'm with you concerning TotS not being as good as it once was, especially when compared to newer flicks like American Sniper and 13 Hours, but you "loved" The Hurt Locker??? I knew the EOD guys would be portrayed as the ultimate bad asses that could accomplish anything, but that was just a bad movie all around. Shit storyline, terrible acting, JV-level writing...utter shit. |

I bought the DVD way back when it first came out. I haven't seen it since then, I remember it being entertaining.
I loved the movie, but the MK23 pistol porn gave me wet dreams!
Didnt he lose most of his team? Its been a while, Ill have to watch it again...

Good turn off the brain action flick with one of my favorite actors, BW.
Also Monica at her prime. It is not meant to be a documentary. |
My MK23 seems to like it.

There were only two realistic moments in the entire film: 1. Iraqi kid selling porn. 2. The cereal aisle scene. |
