It's not about being good at one thing. You must be good at many things. If you can run 3 miles then you can run half a mile faster. If you can run but can't obstacle, shoot, or chug, you will fail. If someone can obstacle, shoot, and chug, but can't run, they will beat you because they can do more things well than you can. If you can do all things well, then you win.
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.-Robert A. Heinlein |

That is one place where I can easily improve with practice and where I can make up a bunch of time. |

ok, I think I'm in. When is the next one closest to FL?
For the record, I do not drink sodas and I hate marshmallowy/sugary snacks. How much pain am I in for? |

Quoted: Barely anyone runs the half mile fast enough currently. View Quote For an old dude I shoot for 22-25min 5ks and 10min 1.5mile. I guess I should start sprinting a sub 4.5min .5mile to be prepared better. It is funny, why the hell is the 10min 1.5 is very doable but that 4.:30 .5 would really hurt. I need more fast twitch work. |

Ran this. Did better than I thought I would.
My only regret was not chugging a 2L at the finish line to freak out the squares. |

Signed up for another 5k next week. Going to try to beat my time. I've been running three miles for three days a week for the past three months. Plus have my home gym in my garage.

If I was able to compete with WWI weapons (M1917 Rifle & Revolver) last year and do well on the shooting, but sucked on everything else. I need to improve the everything else. I'm not worried about gear. It is the physical aspect that I have to better. Besides, at some point I want to run the course in WWI Trench Armor. View Quote |
