Having dealt with quite a few glocks, I want to know why you dremeled your barrel or let someone else do it. That barrel with the two shallow notches in the chamber did not come out of Glock's factory.
That said, I hope you learned your lesson, and I'm glad you're ok. |

Either you didn't bother to read the entire thread, or you are a troll. Which is it? At least four other people have posted photos of their chambers that look look identical. Of the Glocks you have dealt with, how many were early 2nd generation Glock 20s? I suspect none. |

Enough people had already quoted things I stated that it was getting a little old. Sorry I objected so quickly. |

Haters gonna hate. I trust my life to my 22 (bedside gun) and my 27. Next on the list though is a springfield G.I.

So after reading all of this, should I get a KKM or LW barrel for the 20SF?
Mountains-carry, using Buff Bore (easier to find online/retail than DT). Thanks |

Back when DT Ammo 10mm will was $17.49 a box, I put close to 10K rounds (all DT)
through a 100% stock G29, sans the Wolf 21lb spring. Zero issues. None. I only sold it because the the ammo was putting me in the poor house. |

Great photos Mr. McNasty.
[edit] I can't read. The Double Tap is the bottom one. You must have some pretty fancy equipment. Diamond saw? Microscope with graduated eyepiece? Sometimes I wish I still worked at my previous job where I had access to stuff like that. |

Ill get out the range and get a few chronoed when the wind breaks.. I had taken the day off to do this but we are getting 40 mph gusts. Oh and I forgot to add. that the rounds are date stamped from 2006. |

Oh and I forgot to add. that the rounds are date stamped from 2006. I must have forgotten to post that fact here. Yes, in 2006 I ordered a 'case' of 10 boxes of 50 rounds per box. It isn't plinking ammo, so I have a few boxes left. |

your pics are almost identical to the failure my g30 had.
that episode left me with a really bad taste in my mouth for glock. |

WIthout reading the whole thread. Is there anything I need to do to my stock G20 (purchased new around 2006-2007 IIR) to safely shoot double tap. NO problems thus far.

If these KKM barrels are as reliable as the factory barrels, I might have to pick one up to try out in a Gen 2 Glock 22 I have. It is the only non-GEN 3 Glock I own and I've always been a bit concerned about the lack of chamber support at 6 o' clock on older Glock pistols. That is the only Glock I have that doesn't get much use currently, and yes, that is the reason.

as a glock 20 fanboy ...
and a DT fanboy ... thanks for the post |

OP,
Please let us know if Glock warrants the gun. I have read the first three pages and browsed through the rest. I'm sure they probably have received it and are sitting on it by now. Thanks -Yokam |

Thanks -Yokam based on my experience they will offer him a replacement for about 275.00 or for 300 or so they will anaylse the failure for your lawsuit with the ammo manufacturer. prices may be higher since my issue. |

So a glock 20 frame costs $47? Hmm.... I'm assuming that is the cost of the plastic and metal pieces, plus the labor to put all the metal pieces in it. Since it is warranty repair work, they may not be including overhead and or markup in that cost. But we don't have enough info to tell. Either way I think i'd take it without complaint. |

So a glock 20 frame costs $47? Hmm.... Shaun said they normally charge $xxx, but in this case they reduced the price. How they arrived at $47, I don't understand. I don't remember exactly what price he quoted. It was $150 or $160. I wasn't paying attention to that because I didn't care. I did ask if I could have the frame back, but he said because of the laws involved in the frame exchange, they have to destroy it. (beyond it's current state of destruction) He is going to send me some kind of formal statement of serial number change, since the slide/barrel will no longer match the frame. |

<<<<<<<<<<< I bought my first. last and only Geelok back in 1992, which promptly blew up. Fuck them. |

Betting it's the straight up cost to produce the plastic piece and whatever metal frame components need to be replaced. Do you know if they'll be reusing any metal pieces from your old frame? |

Betting it's the straight up cost to produce the plastic piece and whatever metal frame components need to be replaced. Do you know if they'll be reusing any metal pieces from your old frame? No idea at all. He said he would be ordering a frame. He also said I could watch for the charge to be applied to my credit card as an indicator of when it ships. So obviously they aren't simply grabbing any replacement frame off the shelf. So, does that mean swapping parts in the frame? Or do they re-issue the serial number with an extra digit denoting the replacement like they do with barrel/slide exchanges? Custom stamping a serial number probably takes time. |

Wait does Glock have the gun or someone else? Glock does. I assume the Tech Services guy has to order it from a different department. |

Given OP knowingly fired a suspect barrel that he thought was problematic with visible danger signs, using hot ammo... and blew up the gun instead of sending it in for warranty (or simply tossing the barrel) - I'm saying that Glock really stepped up to the plate here to replace his frame for $47 in parts.
I understand OP's curiosity and all... but to keep firing ammo out of a clearly suspect barrel with those pressure signs is just stupid - and something that should not be bragged about. With that said, there is high educational content in these threads regarding the poor quality control of those barrels, so we have to thank OP for his photos and sharing in his experiences. |

Couple of points. First, the ammo was not "hot". It was supposedly manufactured within SAAMI specs. edit: I equate it to saying the "standard" 15 round magazine is "high capacity", when in fact it is the normal capacity for that gun. It isn't like some people who go beyond SAAMI specs just because their gun can take it. Nobody using this ammo with a "better" barrel has reported any problems with it. edit: by "better", I mean a 3rd generation Glock barrel, or an aftermarket like KKM, Storm Lake, Wolf, etc. Second, even though I agree with your assessment of the barrel, Glock obviously disagrees as they are sending it back for me to keep using. It might be more accurate to say that ammo was too hot for that barrel. |

I have a Glock 20 its sitting in my safe until I farm it out to a smith for some Mods.
I did see a Beautiful Kimber Custom II 1911 chambered in 10mm at a local gun shop but it cost 3 times of a Glock 20. Funny thing...while I was staring really hard at the Kimber...the salesman kept trying to entire me to buy it, but my mind was on the Smith & Wesson 460 Magnum revolver that was sitting next to the Kimber and it was $100 cheaper. Of course both the 460 Mag and 10mm...means lots of handloading with my press, as Factory Ammo is skyhigh.. but...that S&W... I could shoot 3 calibers out of that thing: 45 Colt, 454 Casull and 460 SW Mag. And it makes the 10mm look like a 22LR |

I'm kind of in the market for one, since my last one experienced some technical difficulties. I've found links to expired auctions for ones that were advertised as unfired. Just waiting for the next one to come around. I have the S&W 500 magnum. I'm not sure how it's recoil compares to the 460, but yeah, the 10mm is a pussycat compared to it. |

FYI, I decided to find the receipt.
I paid $490 for the G20 on 2/7/1994. So I don't understand the 9-Dec-2005 on Glock's response. I don't know what that means. Interestingly... I paid $390 for a .44 magnum stainless Ruger Redhawk a few months later. The revolver has nearly doubled in price. The Glock, on the other hand, has only gone up about 5%. |

Tag for follow up I'm not sure how much more follow-up there can be. Glock offered to replace the frame. I called them with my credit card number. They are shipping it directly to me. Not to an FFL. So there must be some way for them to register the new serial number. I suppose a followup could be a photo of the new frame and serial number. |
