I liked the the brunette better
Sounds like a Phil Collins tune.
Phil Collins produced the album, did some backup vocals, and used his solo band.
There is not one bad song on 'Something's Going On'.

I always had a thing for Swedish/Norwegian women, from Abba to Liv Linderland it was always about the blondes with high cheekbones and big boobs.

I actually live the dream and married one!

I discovered ABBA when I worked at a branch of the St. Louis County Library during the time when some of their most iconic hits were charting.
They were very much a guilty pleasure of mine.
Let me explain here. . . . .
http://s4.thingpic.com/images/ym/SJHoHZXc7Kz6xqV3J3j1d3Uv.jpeg
If you grew up anywhere near St. Louis in the 70's, 80's. . .  KSHE 95 Real Rock Radio was the station in St. Louis to listen to.  KSHE played progressive rock radio, album-oriented rock and standard hard rock at the time, and NO pop music. If you were a teenager in Missouri, you forswore pop, dance, or disco, and swore allegiance to KSHE and real rock - - or there was a very real chance that you would not make it through the school year in an undamaged state!
So, I rented out ABBA's albums - ABBA, Arrival, & The Album and copied them to tape to enjoy when I was driving . . . by myself. . .

Seriously, ABBA could sell out the largest stadium in the world today for $10000 a ticket.

I don't doubt it...Tell ya what ..I took my wife to see the roadshow for "mamma mia" last summer .....Audience was crammed with 60-70 year old fans rocking out to the soundtrack of their youth..I bet a bunch of them would pony up to see the real deal one last time ..

Three of the radio buttons in my car were set to Chicago stations, which I listened to while driving to my early AM shift... in rural Kansas.

Say what you will about them, They conquered the world of pop music in a way that has not been matched. Abba is still among the top selling acts of all time and top singles of all time.

Those two women put down vocals without all the autotune used today and they could do it live. Behind them were two producers/songwriters who gave them excellent quality pop material.

Heard lots of them growing up, as my stepfather was a fan.

lol

Out of hundreds of artists and groups, there is no Abba in Billboard's Hot 100 list of chart achievements and milestones.
They did have one #1 in Hot 100 and two #1s in easy listening.

I'm here for the blonde behind.

I have to admit to cranking some ABBA in my '70 440/6 Roadrunner in between Sabbath, Zeppelin, Skynyrd and the Stones.

(don't tell anyone, this is between you and me)

I don't believe there was even one of my High school friends that ever found out.

Perhaps you might wish to read up on The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles and Elton John.

You do realize Abba has sold in the area of 300 million plus albums. I am also talking pure pop music, the acts you mentioned beyond Elton John are more Rock orientated.

The Eagles and The Beatles(along with Led Zep and Floyd) are in their own class, beyond what any band will most likely ever accomplish again. You can't even start to compare 99.9% of musicians to them.

Abba were huge in the 70s till the early 80s...really huge. Not my favorite, but they sold stupid amounts of albums and packed many a concert hall.

I might be incorrect about the singles, but sales wise, they are among the top selling acts of all time. 300 million albums or so.

Again, not my thing, but as far as pure pop goes, they are about untouchable.

There are several excellent KSHE Classic playlists on YouTube, that feature the songs they were playing from the 70's and later. You can find and rediscover some real gems there.

Phil played drums on it, and Eric Clapton played the guitar parts. There were a lot of great musicians on the album.
