[ARCHIVED THREAD] - ARIZONA REGULATOR dropped America’s FRT in EE - Q&A ask the Inventor/Manufacturer (Page 15 of 21)

So the issue isn't necessarily the length of the short tail disconnectors on SSA-Es or certain SSAs (or other G triggers) but rather the geometry on the top of the rear of the disconnector, yes? Sticks up too proud to allow that lower cam leg on the regulator to function properly, right? Asking because the shape on the top of these two different SSA disconnector pictures posted on page 14 just don't look all that different to me. If anything, the longer one looks like it would be the problem one going by the explanation in that video. eta: For what its worth, looking at what I've got again... all the SSA-Es appear to have that short tail disconnector. My SDE appears to be the longer one. Also long one for the Super T. |

Had a question about the M2 model. Dry cycling while holding the trigger, the hammer seems to be able to be releasing way early before the bolt is locked. Like it is having hammer follow if you ran a regular rifle without a disconnector installed. Seems as if the trigger travel isn't being held down by the leg of the M2 as the bolt is slowly moving forward. FCG is milspec. UPDATE Figured out the issue. Put a couple pieces of tape on the bottom of the leg that rests against the disconnector and it stopped the trigger from being pulled far enough until it was locked fully. Guess my rifle just has a looser tolerance for how much you fit the M2 units. Problem is, is my FCG out of tolerance, or is the leg on the M2 just too short? My FCG is a A1 Colt that has been converted to semi-only. (cutting the tail off the hammer and disconnector) Lower is an older NDS A1. |

I bet if you peened the metal on either side of the disconnector where the leg of the AZR touches it, you might flow the metal upward enough to make it work. |

Quoted: I bet if you peened the metal on either side of the disconnector where the leg of the AZR touches it, you might flow the metal upward enough to make it work. It took 4-5 pieces of gray duct tape, so might be a little more than simple peening the edges. Even if peening the edges would work though, it would be temporary at best. |

Well if that won't work, your next option is going to be finding a taller disconnector or silver soldering a shim on. Do you have a different set of trigger parts you could try? Is the pocket in the upper deeper than it should be, allowing the AZR to sit higher inside the gun? |

Yup your gun is looser tolerance. Could be tolerance stacking a bit here a bit there all adds up. Could be one thing could be many together. All the M2 series are set up on my DD MK18 There is enough operating room that as long as the gun is within milspec there is no issues and everything does as we show it to do |

To adjust for out of spec guns they can also slap a disconnector between two plates of heat sink material and rig a bead on top of diconnector tail. That would take up the out of spec space. Then just file or stone it in like an old school AZR-15 doing your own M2 setup |

Didn't help the disconnector leg length issue though. Has to be primarily with the length of the leg touching the disconnector. I'll send you a PM. |

I said it isn't 100% drop in with my current upper/lower/FCG combo. As I said in an above post, slightly lengthening the bottom cam leg where it contacts the disconnector seemed to correct the issue with my setup. The hammer didn't drop until the BCG hit the upper cam. So either my lower pin holes are just slightly low, or the FCG is the issue. Could try another FCG I guess, but I just hate to spend another $30-$40. A slightly longer cam leg would be the easiest approach. Guess I'll try buying another FCG to test with just to see if possibly the trigger or hammer is the issue. Right to bear NIB milspec trigger. Inserting the AReg locks the trigger and bolt up tight. Same in another "milspec" lower. Different uppers too. Had to take a lot off the leg to even get it to start moving. Would be nice to know if you fucked up you could get a new leg. But "no soup for you!!!". RTFM RTFM RTFM Maybe I'll create a thread in tech where we cam comiserate our attempts to get these running. |

I half expected to do so after watching the how-to videos, and he even shows what to do if you have that issue. What I'm not set up for is adding material to something sold as '100% drop in'. Had I been gifted with the ability of clairvoyance, I would have known to buy the regular style of AZReg and not the '100% drop in'. Not bashing the design. It's a really cool product that I hoped would work out of the package with minimal work on my end, but YMMV. Just glad I found the issue before I spent the day going to the range. |

I think the design is great. I watched the videos and read the instructions a dozen times. dry fit it a ton. Checked the disconnecter with the included one. I told.my friend, If we took too much off we could get him a MBT. I kinda prefer that style because it gives you a better view of the AZReg and the trigger bar/leg interaction. |

May not but I wouldn’t create a unit here for it for those reasons. ( eta wording and damned autocorrect ) |

A man called in and had a whole box he bought at a gun show back in the day like that. Newer stuff I don’t know. But if it’s machined to milspec colt upper like almost everything is then you’re good. May have to keep very straight and wiggle to get it in on some. I made them right in my Colt uppers when I crated this thing ( eta the 6.8 is interring. Is there some kind of difference that I may need to address and possibly create something to make 6.8 good. Kinda like I’m going to have to do for 22lr ) |

Quoted: Statement on all the Geissele posts Well here’s the thing folks. Funny how ONLY HERE has this come up I do not get phon calls on the tech line I do not get emails from customers on it Only here which would indicate that it is an intent to defame thing Ain’t that a bitch that I have to play child’s games with allegedly grown adults I know I have pissed off the whole AR trigger world and I don’t really give a fuck Have y’all noticed the box trigger frt guys took a swipe at me early here along with the super safety guys That didn’t work and if folks remember I fired a warning shot and all those guys disappeared Why would they disappear. Because in those wanting shots I told them all to back the fuck off or I would make another item and crush their portion of the industry. They also know me personally from phone calls at they have tried to get me to license to them. Nothing more than those calls connects them to me. But we “know” each other to say the least Box trigger frt you say. Yep. I can probably give y’all at least 6 versions in less than a month. Same for super safety once I informed that in public they disappeared. So they shift to disconnected in milspec triggers That didn’t work to defame me So they shift to Geissele triggers That didn’t work So they shift to my flag that I made with different font cause I wanted that font That didn’t work So they keep beating the Geissele drum which is not my problem if they changed something after I released the ARIZONA REGULATOR back on July 4 24. Which has already been shown to be fact by the man that posted his trigger is fine and showed he purchased that trigger in July 24 Still won’t accomplish the goal they think they are accomplishing. And I kinda think it’s not anyone associated with Geissele. I think it’s the propaganda machine that is run by my opposition. Whatever.... What it will do is piss me off to the point that I say fuck it and make a precision two stage trigger on my wire edm And if I do I’m going to make one that is just normal AR trigger but match grade. Drop in replacement for all ARs. Which is why I don’t think Geissele folks are in this bashing shit. They are watching same as the whole world is. They saw me fire a warning shot at box triggers and super safety’s. Why would they want to poke a fuckin dickhead like me and have me step into their market segment. No sense for them to do that. No want on my end for me to do that. But if it has to be to shut the fuckin propaganda machine up that is what I’ll do. And one that is a box frt that is match grade And a fuckin super safety that is match grade I’m done fuckin with the whole thing y’all Push it and see where it goes...... |

And Ive read all pages of this thread multiple times. Ive watched your videos multiple times as well. I guess I missed the posts about why too short a disconnector is bad. Its kinda hard to weed through all the bullshit geissele posts to glean some useful tidbits. The longer this thread goes the harder it will be to find the answer. And god forbid you may get asked the same question over and over. The rifle in question is a Mega arms Gator lower with a older Right to bear NIB enhanced milspec trigger. Suppressed 11.3" barrel. The disconnector length is identical to the one you include in the kit. I had to take off a decent amount from the leg to get the whole thing moving. There is no more binding and I can tap the trigger in all bolt positions. Maybe could be a little more tappy. I only had a H2 buffer to test. I got it to run a couple times but I only had 4 rounds in each time. Then the next mag would be semi auto only. Id open her up. All looked good, then it worked again. Next mag, semi auto only. Then it just stopped working. I had a 9mm 5.9 oz buffer but it is longer and didn't help. Back home I cycled it a bunch. It does reset the trigger and only fires when the bolt slams home. |

Another successful install of the AZ Regulator. H&R DOE 9mm upper, H&R Mod 635 lower, KAK Adjustable 9mm buffer (10 oz). I unpinned the buffer weight in the BCG and carefully removed material from the buffer weight until the upper trip leg of the AZR cleared. Replaced the OEM disconnector with a modified disconnector so that the AZR is setup bearing directly on the trigger (Setup 1). It's a jumpy little gun but it shoots! I don't have the gun right in front of me, but this photo should be descriptive enough (from https://activesafetydesigns.com/troubleshooting/): ![]() I turned the upper over and retracted the BCG until the AZR fit in the sear pocket, then pushed the bolt forward until it contacted the upper leg, then used a steel scribe to mark a line on the inner face of the BCG weight. It was about 3/16" of an inch of material to remove (in depth) and back along the length of the BCG weight until it reached the trip surface on the full-auto carrier. I did it with a large file, but a bench or belt grinder would make quick work of it. Just make sure to keep the flat surfaces of the material removed in the same plane (parallel) to the through-hole for the roll pin that holds the BCG weight into the carrier. |
