This (and other) threads make me wonder how many ATF agents are actually on this forum and reading threads. You know there have to be at least a few. I wonder if they get a kick out of the memes? View Quote |

I’m following the @ATFHQ twitter handle... is it bad I want to repost all of these memes to that account?

Is this good thread to ask about if I had a stripped lower that I made into a rifle but then decided that it was a pistol trapped in a rifle body so it transitioned to a pistol with a brace, but then realized it is actually a non-binary pew pew thingy so it just does what it feels like on any given day, and is that OK with the king's men? I shall write them a letter of inquiry post haste!

There are numerous government alphabet agencies on this board. They probably have everything about you now too. It's easy for them to do no warrants required... View Quote People/things are seized pursuant to warrants. Surveillance that would otherwise violate 4th Amendment rights also requires a warrant in order to be admissible in court, but there's lots of info and observable activity which requires neither (like everything in public domain, or observable from public property), and everything posted on the open internet like this forum. The government can conduct warrantless surveillance (phone/internet) without consideration of the 4th Amendment for national security purposes, but that doesn’t mean it would be admissible as evidence against you (in civilian criminal court). When the government determines an individual to be a US citizen during such national security survellience, they must obtain a FISA warrant (through the FISC) for any information collected on that individual to be admissible in court. |

That we know of. View Quote Now if the target is committing national security crimes and other crimes, well then the sky's the limit, because you'll definitely get your FISA warrant. Fun fact: FISA was introduced by Ted Kennedy, and signed into law by Jimmy Carter in 1978. (It was subsequently broadened and expanded by other acts). Is national security defined by law, or by administrative discretion?

Is national security defined by law, or by administrative discretion? View Quote With respect to foreign persons, national security simply means anything relevant to "the national defense or security of the United States," as determined by POTUS and/or the FISC. (Kinda like that Clear and Present Danger movie) But that's boring legal stuff. Who's got more ATF memes? |
