Anyone have some new action figure recommendations for young boys? My son gets most of my daughter's hand-me-downs so I wanted to get him some of his own action figures instead. I looked up GI Joes on Amazon but the selection seems mostly in the "collectibles" category or really weak Chinese stuff.

Good luck . |

I just opened up the H.I.S.S. Fire Team set I got from Hasbro a few weeks ago. Man is this kit disappointing. It comes with a bunch of accessories that are kind of stupid and don't really fit the figures. Figures are all really stiff. Maybe they'd work better with the H.I.S.S. Tank I have sitting upstairs. Maybe I'll open that up today and see how they display with it. I know the tank has a bunch of places for extra accessories. Also, there's no back last effect for the Carl Gustav which is kind of dumb.

I find all of the GI Joe Classified series figs to have extremely tight and or frozen joints. I guess that's better than loose joints, but sometimes I worry about snapping them off. The weapons are absolurte garbage though - the plastic is so soft and never hold its shape. I picked up some weapons packs from Grid Iron studios - good stuff there.

This thread just reminded me that I inherited an absolute fuckton of star wars stuff that I put into storage.
I think dude heard about a boba fett going for half a million and decided that was his retirement plan. Sadly I think its mostly prequel era figures and later. Anyone know what 10 bins of shitty movie toys still in the original packaging would be worth? |

Picked up another one of my childhood toys. I actually had this up until a year ago and like an idiot I threw it out when we were going through stuff to move. I've been kicking myself for it all that time.
This is a picture of it on the eBay listing: Attached File This is what it looks like now: Attached File I tried to straighten the rotor blades using the boiled water method but it didn't work. I did straighten the wings using the boiled water method, they were all kinda of twisted. The canopy was also broken at the clip that goes into the helicopter. I fixed it with super glue and baking soda. It's still wonky and I might change it out for a different canopy I have. I still have Recondo who pilots it. He's got a busted thumb and he's missing his pack and rifle. I'm going to get those together. I also have Tripwire who for some reason the box art had him as the gunner. I still need to get his weapons. Attached File |
