I don’t know the details, but it seems a bad day for free speech.
If we lose free speech, expect to lose all rights in short order. To those laughing, imagine fighting for our rights, seeing people die for our rights, and then cheering as our rights are given away. |

View Quote Like saying "We are losing the right to go anywhere" (because Alex Jones was driving drunk through a school zone at 90mph ) ... Free Speech is not unlimited & has limits & protections. Alex Jones clearly went WAY outside the bounds, and when given the perfect opportunity to state his case in court & "reveal the truth" he deliberately threw his own case so he wouldn't have to admit he had nothing but Bull Shit. In many peoples opinion, Alex Jones was nothing but a fraud who huckstered gullible people with tall tales of "secret global conspiracies", all so he could push products & get paid. If he wants to rant & rave - his right. When he naming real peoples names for his "crazy fans" to go after, ... Well that has consequences and he's now facing them. While he won't serve any time, (unlike in say Russia or China), Alex Jones is looking at Millions of dollars of "consequences of his actions" and trying to duck out & bail on them like the Bitch he is.. (in my humble opinion) BIGGER_HAMMER |

Speech has consequences in certain cases, and being held civilly liable is the consequence for defamation or libel. View Quote My statement was general and not related to Alex Jones. Your post I responded to hinted that you believe that crackpots being able to speak to the masses is a negative thing and that, you believe, they are able to influence them because of the free exchange more easily than if they were insular groups, or censored. I was simply saying that the record of history, as well as logic, demonstrates the opposite. |

Quoted: Alex Jones defamed the parents of dead children and then failed to defend against the lawsuit because he knew he was guilty and didn't want to throw good money after bad. "Questioning events" does not equal accusing specific, non-public parents of dead children of being crisis actors while you are speaking to a fairly large audience. The First Amendment has never provided people, particularly people with a public platform, the right to say anything they want without consequences if they cause harm to another person. Jones' failure to defend the lawsuit, and his failure to request any discovery demonstrates that he knew what he was saying was untrue. Your feelings about the MSM are utterly irrelevant to what Alex Jones did. I wish I had as much time, to post shit on the main stream media, as some of you guys have to shit on the guy who is the best at calling them out.
You don’t like him and you think he is full of shit. I can understand that. He is abrasive there is no doubt. No problem. But damn the zealousness in your bombardment of trashing Infowars in related threads is pretty abrasive in itself. I would assume you want everyone to be persuaded by your opinions( and some facts) considering your shear volume of posts on the matter. However, I don’t think you are converting to many people by your tactics. Another problem you have is he has been right too much. He is also very funny. How could you not laugh at his persona? No matter what you think of him everyone has at least laughed at him. He is an entertainer. That was part of his cover and also his means to get his message out. Imo I have a pretty good memory when it comes to past current events, what is said about them, what isn’t said about them, and what is later said about them. I have since I was a kid. I have tried to be fairly well versed in the matters of history, politics, law, and Holy scripts. These I have pursued in both amateur and professional studies. If you met me and we engaged in conversation I don't think you would get the impression i was a regular at the beef jerky, axis powers and csa memorabilia tables. However that is who you say are the people who regularly or even just occasionally tune in to see what Alex has to say or believes he has found. I really don’t care that you want me to come to a certain conclusion about Jones but chill out guys, we know already. I think we need as many streams of information as possible to make up our own minds about what the hell is going on in the world. You probably really wouldn’t like the new Infowar shirts I have coming to show my support of that idea. |
