Pvt. Hudson scenes from Aliens in HD (Tribute to Bill Paxton) It's too bad Bill Paxton wasn't in Wrath of Khan |

Aliens
'82 Wrath of Khan is a classic though. Always watch both if they are on TV. |

Tough call. Two great flicks. Gotta go with my inner nerd and Wrath.

Wrath of Khan was the first movie I saw in a theater. Will always watch it. Alien 3 ruined Aliens for me.

Aliens had a much bigger cultural impact than Wrath of Khan.
Aliens hands-down. |

Tale of the tape from these two heavyweight sci-fi films:
Aliens: Perfect sequel to a ground breaking original film. While it was a direct continuation of the story, it didn't try being the same movie as the original. Anyone could watch it and understand exactly what was going without having seen the first film (although it would be more enjoyable to understand the backstory a little bit better if you did). The characters were not only were believable, but their experiences were compelling. Is widely considered to be one of the few sequels in cinematic history that was as good or better than the first film. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan: Also considered to be one of the few sequels that was better than the first film, although in this case, there is no argument that STII is far better than the first Star Trek movie. While most of the characters carried over from the first film, the story had little, if anything to do with the original movie. Instead, the story reached back to the Star Trek television series from 15 years prior and used a story line from an episode of the show. As with Aliens, one doesn't have to see either the first film (or the episode in question) to understand what's going on, but the harkening back certainly adds to the flavor. Also similar to Aliens, The Wrath of Khan sports one of sci-fi's best villains. These two movies are so evenly matched, it's difficult to pick a winner, but I'm going with.... |

Wreath of Khan. Just slightly
How many movies does the good guy and bad guy, never meet face to face. ST2 also had 2 direct sequels that were good. The alien franchise peaked with aliens. |

Speaking of Khan…
I was walking through the parking garage at work, and there parked by the entrance was a 1970s “Chrysler Cordoba” I was psyched! I walked up to get a closer look, hoping to see that famous “fine Corinthian leather,” and was disappointed to see… maroon velour! Because of THAT…. I vote Aliens. Fuck you, Mr. Roark. Great song, though… Fine Corinthian Leather |

Aliens. GREAT movie but freaked me out back than and still does today!
Trek ROK, just fun all around with a great villain. Ending was a tear jerker. |

There are few movies that Aliens doesn't kick the shit out of. Sorry, but Cap'n Kirk doesn't stand a chance to repeated kicks to the nuts from Ripley.

Wrath of Khan is a masterpiece. But... It has downtime. Aliens does not. It's balls to the fuckin wall the entire time. James Cameron said it best, it's like 40 miles of bad road

As I posted in the last WOK related thread, that movie cost me, particularly the Spock death scene. High school GF was a big tittied Trekky. She cried, literally big sobbing boo hoos at that scene. I teased her about it later. Never got my hands on them sweater puppies again.
Therefore I vote Aliens. |

aliens easily
never could get into any of the star trek stuff |

Sorry nerds, but there isn’t a great Star Trek movie out of the whole lot. So Aliens is the clear winner, even being an action film instead of a thriller like the original.
I would probably rank Galaxy Quest above any of the original or even Next Gen Star Trek movies. The most recent ones are better, but still not awesome. |

Pacing and suspense don't really exist any more in most modern movies. |

TWOK
From hell's heart I stab at thee. View Quote He really took this line and made it his own…it was delivered perfectly. |

Quoted: Kirk would beat the shit out of all the aliens and then fuck the queen. View Quote Damn right he would. He’d watch a couple of his Red Shirts get alien tongue punched, then whip out his phaser and melt it all down. You think he’d give a fuck about the setting off a fusion explosion in the atmosphere processor? Hell no. That ballin bastard self destructed his own ship to kill less than a dozen Klingons. |
