The Scout Rifle moniker seems to elicit too much anxiety. I prefer Practical or General Purpose Rifle.
i agree with Lucky Gunner's assertion that "Learning to run one of these rifles to their full potential is becoming kind of a lost art." It's just another rifle or tool, the operating system is between your ears. My Ruger Scout stands next to an M&P15T in the gun cabinet.
