Is it just me or does that thing not look real? Unless its shimmering from some kind of undisclosed, predator-esque cloaking device that is malfunctioning a bit.

Think it is likely the lens and the zoom causing that effect. Edit- Maybe even automatic/AI post-processing. |

Agreed. Looks like a DCS module overlayed with actual ground footage....but who knows. Figure the DoD would want to pimp the first flight like they did the ground roll out. |

The leading edge of that wing is different.
Heck, the whole wing is weird |

Neat! I saw it on the runway but couldn't stick around long enough to see if they were taking off (it almost caused an wreck on Sierra Highway)
There was a crowd of people at the west end of the runway waiting for it. I'm surprised they did it during daylight hours. |

Might be the way it's underlit from the sunrise? It does look really weird.

In this thread, it's easy to spot who has taken a picture of an LCD screen and who hasn't.
Please stop talking about the rainbow effects. That's normal and only going to derail a very cool thread. Glad it's flying! Amazing machine. |

Good craftsmanship. That belly looks super smooth like it was one piece of plastic.

Can only find the ‘X’ video on line. Need to see more independent videos to trust that it did fly. Wheels are down, which is standard for first flights of anything.

More multi billion dollar hardware for the MIC to justify their need for yet more money to defend every other country but ours.

Anyone know how the bomb bay is configured?
The pictures of the belly seems like there could be multiple bays. Edit- Going off this picture |

View Quote People used to crowd up at a vacant lot off the end of the Plant 42 runway quite often when I was there, they’d be watching for B1’s out of Rockwell and later B2’s from Northrop. There was always something flying out heading to Edwards AFB, B1, B2, SR71’S AND F117’s back in the late 80’s early 90’s. |
