I still think Bill Priestap is key to this entire criminal conspiracy. He's the head of FBI counter intelligence so all of it had to go through him. All of it.
Yet his name is never mentioned by anyone. Not by congress, not by witnesses, no one Here, when Comey gets surprised and scared upon being questioned about ignoring oversight, he attempts to throw Priestap under the bus. Note that he does not mention his name. No one ever mentions his name. At 2:00 is where she makes him wet his pants. Rep. Elise Stefanik asks questions at Comey hearing |

Congress is simply providing the fig leaf of legality. The whole thing is a separate issue from whether 702 should exist or not. Which you would have a very strong case that it shouldn't due to the abuse by ignoring and bypassing the checks as put forth in the law. Because the truth of the situation is that none of this would have happened, if the law was followed, and the process was not "weaponized" for political gain. Which again, is a separate issue on whether it should even exist. |

He and Mueller along with Brennen all wanted to keep this FISA spying and when the 2008 law updating FISA was passed and signed into law giving congressional oversight they all sort of swung on over into Obama land. This isn't oh shit, I forgot about that part of the law. MAGA Trump may be our POTUS, but we still have the same congress and a pussy mother fucker swamp creature for a DOJ. How systematic was this being abused? We don't really know right now but if it came out that this was a regular thing for Team Obama and the Democrats (remember the ones who screamed bloody murder in 2005 about BUUUUUUSH?) then it brings many things into question. There are loopholes that I'm sure the Obama administration utilized and the issue will be proving one way or the other that they were within their rights to use said loopholes. Monitoring US citizens for the hell of it to make sure you know how they're going to vote or blanket FISA warrants ala Bush Dept. isn't going to fly. The Democrats? They're going to fight this like crazy but if it comes out it comes out. Expect a trip down memory lane to 2005 when they majestically stopped Bush from doing the "same thing." |
