Quoted: A buddy of mine is a sheriff's deputy in an adjoining county. The word they got is the ATL officers on duty saw the press conference, returned their cruisers to the stations, and went home. Over half is current estimate. Nobody knows what this means long term, but holy fuck. View Quote |

Go to the Doc-in-a-Box and tell them you're sick. Get a Doctor's excuse.
The Fire department will be limited in answering call. Can't go into hot scenes without the coppers clearing it first. Welcome to WROL. |

Called a friend who works for Atl Fire to confirm this and see what the fire response will be.
Also another friend who is MCCD is down there now. I told him to dip and come shoot guns and grill out with me! |

What possible reason would they have to go to work?
Really, the choice they have is 1) Die 2) Go to Jail 3) Fuck 'em let it burn If fire and medics walk out because their job just got a lot more dangerous too... wouldn't blame them either. Elections have consequences. |

Quoted: I think the Atlanta PD officers are getting railroaded (unlike Officer Chauvin who is not). But isn't it interesting that they can band together and walk out when one of their own is threatened, but we saw no such mass walkouts over enforcing unconstitutional lock downs. View Quote |

So, if Et'lanta is short on protection, can we infer the FD will avoid venturing into the probable arsons tonight? WillI see the glow from Orlando?
....and I don't blame the PD. DA over charged....pulled everything he could find. |

If this is true it's probably the single decent example of heroism in the face of adversity since Floyd's death.

Two weeks ago, the DA in Atlanta who's currently charging Officer Garrett Rolfe in the Rayshard Brooks case charged police officers with aggravated assault for using a taser on protesters.

Quoted: I wouldn't get too worked up. One of three things will happen here: 1) we will find out this was a twitter rumor run wild and nothing really changed. 2) the politicains will make some minor concessions behind the scenes, the officers will be back on the job tomorrow. 3) they'll publicly denigrate the small number of officers who left, and go right along filling in the vacancies as possible. In the end, dems will lose nothing, and nobody will learn anything. View Quote In 1989, I would say you are right, but this aint 89 anymore...… The country is changing.... |
