Over/under what these will be selling for on gunjoker in a month? I bet one goes for over $800 within that timeframe.

I predict in a year or two, when it starts to sink in that these might be about the only “large” lot of military 870’s ever released to the public, the value will probably get close to $1k. View Quote |

There are probably many more that were given to police and prisons. Not to mention some might be released to the CMP. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

It's been almost 50 years since these were produced and these are the first ever released. It's hard to say. If this is truly a USAF shotgun that the NG was fielding, that was given to a state/local agency, then traded to an FFL in exchange for credit towards new rifles, it could be a unique situation. Most surplus firearms from federal/military seem to get scrapped or given away. I hope someone with first hand knowledge can come forward with info on how current or at least recent military firearms are handled when they reach end of service. View Quote |

We really need serial number information. It will tell the story.
Op willing to post serial numbers in original thread? and if any markings are present. |

Is there an actual designation for these/USAF-type 870’s?
I know the USMC ones are the mark 1 but I’m having trouble finding good info on this style. |

If that some are US marked rumor is true someone of us will have some amazing guns. View Quote Never say never when it comes to surplus, though. |

Another member here received one of the four he and I have coming. He brought it by my office after he left the ffl. It had a black sling and was in excellent condition. The serial number started with an S which I think means 1968 production. The others should arrive Monday.

S is 68-71 I believe.
We don’t need the entire serial number. Just do last three XXX. |

S392XXX-V on receiver. KU on barrel. 1971 no US proof marks only ONG logo and regular Rem wingmaster branding and proofs.

If op/admins rather me create a post in the shotgun forum I don’t mind managing the info?

These were not procured through US Army Ordnance Dept so they will not have the U.S., US Property or Ordnance Bomb proof marks.
These were state-level. COTS procurement, hence the OHARNG logo engraved on receiver. I remember some Winchester 1500s ARNG riot guns that were released about 15yrs ago, none had US markings. Btw, the dealer with the NIW M7 Bayonet/M10 Scabbards is North Alabama Military Surplus on Facebook, out of Athens, AL. Numrich still has the plain, wide, oil finish walnut foreends for $40.20: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/588550 And the plain oil finish walnut stocks for $95.30 https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/553380 To save your original wood furniture while keeping it original GI and sexy looking |
