I miss the flying boats.
And, I can always take another airplane thread, especially if it doesn't have any politics in it. |

Saw a group of F5s (T-38?) buzzing the tower in Yuma around Labor Day. At least 5. All painted differently.

Since third grade, I've had a weakness for the cute neighbor girl and the missle that Kelly Johnson put wings on so the pilots wouldn't be scared.

I don't know why the Beaver was ever discontinued. It was a great airplane. That said Canada has a history of canceling the production of good aircraft, like this one: Attached File |

Since it is one of a few P-51's that has my fingerprints all over. Lots and lots of elbow grease, drilling and buck riveting. |

I love the P-51 and think it's the best looking plane ever made. I also love a lot of others, including some that maybe aren't as popular in the "prettiest plane" lists.
Other favorites include: F-15, best looking 4th gen fighter F-104, missile with a cockpit, held the time to climb record for a long while F-111, impressive payload and performance, very cool looking from lots of angles DC-3, just classy AF |

View Quote I'm surprised it took this long! The Super Connie (Constellation) is the most beautiful propeller driven aircraft ever made. And very, very few jets rival her looks. |
