That's life.
According to everything I've seen, employers cannot find workers and (starting) salaries have increased 50%.  Also, these bozos overspent--expecting other people to pick up after them. Time to grow up, don't ya think?

Bidenflation is real.

And it affects everyone, from entitled borrowers who throw money at avocado toast instead of loans to the bus driver who didn’t go to college.

If people read the article, many chose to spend money on other things with the assumption their financial obligations would be waived.

This behavior will continue as long as they are never forced to grow up. But look who’s in charge, it’s no wonder no one thinks they have to pay back their loans.

Once again those financially responsible in the middle class get screwed.

That’s not entirely fair. I agree it is their responsibility but these are kids taking out massive amounts of debt under the advice of terrible adults, usually people in education that stand to profit from this financial burden. No 18 year old has a concept of what that much debt is like or how to pay it off.

You only start talking to "people in education that stand to profit" once you begin looking at schools. I attended many college expos with my kids. Recruiters arent shaking these young people down. They WANT to be there.

If a student can't do simple algebra and calculate interest rates and loan costs....maybe that person isn't ready for higher learning. This was explained to my kids before a dollar was ever spent.

It's not hard to understand how we got here. We have an entire generation of people that have been coddled and think they walk on water and can do no wrong. And when shit goes sidewards, they look for someone to bail them out. It's as simple as that. We're training people to rely on government as their parents. That is dangerous and un-American

But don't let this distract you from the fact that Trump and the Retardicans agreed to shut down the economy and printed twice the amount the projected cost of student debt relief.

I’ll pay mine, but the complaints I hear from college friends aren’t entirely invalid. We’re sending billions of dollars to other countries while the dementia patient destroys our economy devalues our currency and increases cost of living. My student loan payments were annoying before Covid, but with the inflation and additional costs of raising kids, it is now a knife in the side. I’ll encourage my children to skip college and go to trade school. I’d rather spend 100k to set them up for success with tools or a business.

Im just gonna argue your point, but student loans are not given out on a basis of whether the student has a projected ability to pay them off. They are given out similar to how oprah gives out books. The process should be more difficult. That said, pay off your loans...

We've sent billions overseas for decades, nothing new, and not an excuse to not pay for your education.
That being said, yes, US military power has made global trade possible and it's paid for by the US taxpayer, who gets little in return aside from cheap foreign goods. Europe subsidized higher education to help their people to be competitive in this new economy, America didn't. Nobody forced anyone to go to college either.

So, the working taxpayer has to fund the military, and pay for Hunter's coke, as well as support the livelihood of the non working, non taxpayers, and now also has to cover the debts of kids who went to college for fields that don't pay enough in wages to simultaneously pay off the loans and live a cush life.

Fuck that whole system. Fuck USGOV, fuck globalism, fuck Marxism, fuck socialism, fuck the intelligentsia, fuck the whole higher education racket.

I'm so tired of giving a day a week+ to this beast.

It is subjective. These "kids" are really incapable of making long-term life decisions unless they had good parents or are just naturally intelligent enough to rationally make financial decisions. Most of these "kids" never managed money, few ever worked a job on a payroll, weren't required to pay any bills...and then you have banks "encouraged" by the .gov to hand out school loans like candy because they know the .gov will either bail them out or make a deal. Nobody gives a shit about the stupid college graduate with a useless social services degree who can't get a job other than waiting tables, living at home with mom and dad trying to live like a Hollywood young-adult sitcom while enslaved to debt. Hell, at least for the good-looking young women, there are sugar daddy dating sites and Olyfans

Add to the fact that these "kids" going right into college with no life/employment experience, they do no analysis on actual college degree success at getting a decent paying job in any sector let alone understanding the competitiveness of those sectors.

My son is learning the hard way as well. He did get an ROTC scholarship, but it was only three years, so he had to get a loan and HE mismanaged it. He also worked full time when in college, so it's not like he wasn't doing anything, but even that small loan is still kicking him in the nuts. Hindsight is a bitch, so stop your bitching and work harder dipshits...maybe by the time they're 40 they'll be in a position to start a 30-year career to retirement at 75-80.

Meanwhile, my wife will be working on her doctoral dissertation this fall and it will take two to three semesters. Two years into her doctorate and she's only had to pay about $5K. She's been working as a graduate research assistant which pays her tuition and pays her about $500 a month...works full time as an Assistant Principle. The best way to avoid debt is busting your ass, discipline, and a little cost-benefit analysis.

Sadly, FJB and his administration used this college-debt relief to dupe the ignorant young peeps, and now they'll get their votes blaming their failure on evil republicans who hate college kids. Great strategy for the ignorant...
