Long time ago we had a cop near here accidentally shoot a 5 year old in the head while he was trying to shoot a snake out of a birdhouse. Im sure some of you old timers remember that thread. Dead kids dad joined Arfcom to tell his side of the story. Cop was shown quite a bit of leniency.

2015 on the video. Iowa News says it's over, her family gets $2 million and Ofc. Jesse Hill goes back to work in Burlington Iowa. She had just spent the night in jail over a domestic dispute with her husband. Ofc. Hill was escorting her to pick up some things at the house since she was not to have contact with her husband. She started beating on the husband as Ofc. Hill tries to break it up and the dog jumps on him. IMO, he is one of those guys scared of dogs and he shoots at dog hitting her and she dies. That is the whole story. OP tries to get people riled up on police shooting a civilian when the story is much broader than that. It's play stupid games, win stupid prizes sort of thing. All in all, a big dose of the juice would have been better than gun fire, that is my living room judgement in my lazy boy chair sort of thing.

Takes a hell of set of teeth to bite through a winter duty coat.
Cops need to be taught to at least try to understand what a dog is doing/what it means when it barks. I've got one (mutt) that barks at everyone walking/riding up and down the street. Stands there barking and wagging his tail 90 mph the whole time he's barking. He barks. He stops. He looks at our house hoping we've noticed that he's noticed someone/some thing he things we should be noticing. If he doesn't see/hear us then he barks some more, while wagging that tail. He did kill a groundhog once though, so I wouldn't trust a groundhog to be safe around him. The worst thing he does to kids is lick them and wag his tail. Then jump up on them to lick them some more. Just because a dog barks, or growls, does not mean injury or death is imminent. Just like someone talking shit to a cop doesn't mean he's about to get stabbed or shot. |
