Brian Johnson.

Back in Black is the best selling rock album of all time.

Bon had better songs IMHO.

Best front man in history.  And they were just starting to make it big when he died.  What could have been...

Scott was the original, but I like more of the Brian-era songs.

Their more popular songs came from Brian Johnson, their better songs came from Bon Scott.

Whole lotta rosie - their best IMO

This.  Back in Black is a masterpiece, but Bon is better.  I love 'em both, but my biggest gripe with Brian, is his diction sucks.

I think Back in Black was their best album by a looooooong ways so gotta give credit to Brian on that one. Outside of that, seems like everything after BnB was a rehash of the same old music. Can't necessarily blame Brian for that exclusively, but very little after BnB I can listen too. The stuff with Bon seems to have a lot more variation in terms of song writing. Not sure how much of that was the singer or the band reaching the point where they're outta original ideas.

Damn near even.

Both are very good singers.

My favorite band of all time. AC/DC is really the cornerstone of rock and roll, which I "saw" for the first time at a gig in Helsinki in 1977 when I was only five years old. My godmother's boyfriend was a fan and I was under their care while my parents were on a trip abroad, so of course little me was taken to the gig, which unfortunately I don't remember except that it was cramped and noisy). Seen them live several times since and the gigs have been cramped and noisy

It's a bit pointless to argue about who is the better singer. The band is not exactly the same, and certainly not comparable (e.g. Danzig vs. Graves)Bon is not their first singer eihter, but he is, IMO the one that made the band great, not forgetting the genius of the Young brothers and Phil Rudd. Bon was genuinely a bad boy whereas Johnson is a humble nice guy. Having said that, Johnson is hands down the best singer to continue after Scott's death. For me, Powerage and Back in Black are tied at the top when choosing the world's best rock album of all time. But there are so many songs like Riff Raff, Let There Be Rock, Ride On Back in Black and You Shook Me All Night Long are all hall of fame stuff that I also play the most - on a Gibson SG, of course

Bon Scott, and it's not even close.

The exception is Back in Black,  which was an excellent album.

After that, I think AC/DC with Brian Johnson sucked.

Pretty much this.  Keeping in mind that most of BIB was written with Bon Scott.  Also, For Those About To Rock was worthy of existing.  But yeah, most Brian Johnson AC/DC sucks ass.  Bon all the way.

My take, Bon Scott, but the BiB album is equal to all the work Scott did. So it's a warsh.

Yes.

But you guys forgot their original singer, Dave Evans.

BTW heres Bon in a group prior to AC/DC (he's the backup singer)

Brian for me.

Doesn't hurt that he just seems like a really nice down to earth guy, based upon what I've seen of him.

Scott era AC/DC was best AC/DC.

I'll take either one depending on the song.

AC/DC is my favorite band.

Thanks for involving me brother.

Your take is essentially mine.

My favorite era is with no doubt, Bon's era.
HOWEVER my favorite album of all times ACROSS ANY GENRE is Back in Black.

So I have this probably unique position.I am not sure if people know that I have been working with AC/DC since 2014.
While this doesn't put me necessarily on any higher opinion ladder level,
I really know my AC/DC.

My take is that Bon was a poet; he was a true artist, and he was part of the original core of ACDC.
Brian had a very different voice - that unfortunately he lost quickly - and while I acknowledge him everything,
my favorite "era" still lies with Bon.
Studio wise, most of the "research" for great sound ended with Mutt Lange (1981)

All in all we are very fortunate to have such an amazing catalog.
Rock on!
Solo
PS Just a few months ago, I have been asked by a marketing agency to re-create 11 among the most successful and well known tracks of AC/DC.

So I just set out to do so and I produced, and essentially played all guitars and bass on the following linked album.
Two singers were involved to re-create, both Bon and Brian.

Lyrics were fully rewritten in a comedy fashion that I think some of you may enjoy.

I like them both.  I think Bon was the better singer, but some of the BJ songs are more metal.

My favorite ACDC album is Flick of the Switch.
