The house will delay things by putting together a special panel rather than going with the already existing house judiciary committee. Then they will drag out the investigation for as long as possible before holding a vote in the judiciary committee, then drag it out again before having the full house vote. Once the full house votes, I predict they will vote to send it to the senate.
Once it hits the senate, the democrats will again drag things out as long as possible before the inevitable vote that will split along party lines, resulting in Trump staying in office. The democrats know they ultimately don't have the votes in the senate to remove trump. Their goal is to drag the process out so they come out better in the 2020 election. They hope to distract the Trump campaign, distract the American people, so they might just win a majority in the Senate..then they might have a chance at a successful impeachment. |
